The resource button for "copy" does not work
Hello all,
I found a document I needed for my paper. It didn't have the resource listed when I copied it to my paper like it usually does. So, I clicked on the button to get the resource info. When I went to copy the "cite" material, the program froze. This has happened many times now. Any ideas? I've already sent an email to the techs.

Hi Darlene! Welcome to the forums! If you follow the link in my signature to 'How to ask for help', you'll see how you can upload logs which may help us in trying to determine the cause.

Thanks Mark
Still don't know if I opened up a new line or not. Sorry if I didn't.

The logos4.log didn't contain useful information. Start L4, invoke the crash with copying a citation, wait a minute then close L4 and upload the logs before you restart L4.
Also tell us what resource(s) you tried it on.

I was viewing The Bible and its Story, Volume 2; The Law, Leviticus to Deuteronomy. Francis R. niglutsch; NY, NY by C. Horne and J. Bewer (1910;2009). When I try to copy the capture shot from the screen this program won't let me upload it or paste it. When I try to drag and drop into this window it completely shuts this site down and takes me out. I tried the regular copy and paste, but the paste option is not available; I tried the word doc and it will not work either. I'll try to send it next, but not on this one because I don't want to redo this for the third time.

Just to clarify: The stuff about the capture shot is obviously for turning this information to you. On the software itself, I selected the resource button within the document window. Went to the next screen which had the citation material. When I clicked on the copy button everything froze.

To capture and upload a screen shot see this wiki article. The logs provide the necessary information though. I cannot reproduce your problem in Windows XP but I have created a bug report on the wiki. If Logos do not respond here then you should contact Technical Support and quote this thread.

Dave,
I used the snippit tool. I have it as a capture shot and as a word doc. Neither of them would load onto LOGOS to send to this posting site. It would not work.

Darlene,
Here's how to upload an image to this forum (copied from the end of http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot):
Uploading to the Forum
- Hit reply to respond to a message (or create a new message)
- Locate the paperclip icon and click it
- This will bring up the attachment dialog
- Click Browse to locate your image, adust the Max width and height if you want to change scaling (not normally necessary).
- click INSERT.
- Voila!

Hello Rosie,
As I posted earlier, I have already done all that. It will not load into the window no matter which way I try. It closes the window down.

Some file types don't work directly - you need to zip the file to be able to upload it.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Ah, yes. I forgot about that. Here's how to "zip" a file, in case you didn't know.

Darlene:
Some of the MVPs are in a better position to solve your problem. However, not knowing when your paper is due, I wanted to remind you that you could type the citation into MS Word manually - so as to not delay the paper. This is one of those things that is obvious, but easily overlooked in the midst of trying to solve a technological problem.
Good luck on the paper.
Blessings,

Darlene ~ Apparently our techs already reported this to development, as there is an open case on it. I've added a link to this thread. There's no need for a screenshot. Thanks.

A workaround, until we fix this issue, is to open Program Settings in the Tools menu. Change the Citation Style to something and change it back. Let me know if that fixes the issue for you.

It was a successful workaround for the user in this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/24141.aspx.

I don't know if you already solved this issue or if your suggestion just worked, BUT it is working correctly now!!!

Thank you Floyd. Yes, I had already done that because I was against a deadline. I'm just happy it works now!
