Bug: Linked guides not responding on certain passages

I linked the NLT to My Passage Guide and My Exegetical Guide and opened NLT to Rev 15:7.

On laptop (see below) 4.1 SR-3 scrolling NLT to Rev 16:1 resulted in an update of Rev 16 in the guides but no updates whilst slowly scrolling thru ch. 16 until I reached ch. 17. Whilst slightly different on the faster desktop 4.2 beta there were no updates from 16:1 thru to the end of the chapter. In both systems ch 17 would be updated verse by verse on a slow scroll thru the NLT.

I'm seeing the same thing with Rev 16 and will report it.

Edit: Actually, what I'm seeing (with any Bible and book/chapter), if you scroll to a chapter beginning, such as Rev 16, stop there, and then continue scrolling, the guides won't follow by verse. They behave as though the whole chapter has been entered. However, if you scroll from Rev 15:8 to Rev 16:1, they will follow by verse.

The same thing happens when you scroll from Luke 24:53 to John (with 'John' in reference box). The guides are set for the whole book and won't follow by individual chapter or verse.

The key is to not stop at the beginning of a book or chapter while scrolling.

I'm glad you've noted this behavior in the Exegetical Guide. I request the following modifications to the Exegetical Guide:

1. The user should be able to set a preference that the Guide will load only one verse at a time. So even if I happen to land on Revelation 16, I want only Rev 16:1 listed in my Exegetical Guide. Personally, I've never wanted the Guide to load any more than a single verse. Because I use the "Word by Word" feature for Hebrew and Greek, there is just too much scrolling down if there's more than one verse listed.

2. In Logos 3 the Alt-up/down arrow keyboard shortcut, even from the Exegetical Guide, would scroll all the linked windows up/down a single verse (or chapter or book, depending on the chosen setting). I've noted this feature has not been enabled in Logos 4. So now in Logos 4, after using the Exegetical Guide, I must click on my Bible pane in order to use the Alt-arrow keyboard command.

3. As noted by other users, while the Exegetical Guide is working to list all the features of a particular verse, it often lags behind as one scrolls through one's Bible. As a result, I'm frequently having to hit the left and then the right arrow to get all my linked Bibles and Exegetical Guide on the same verse. This is annoying. Again, this wasn't a problem in Logos 3.

4. Another point related to scrolling verse-by-verse through linked Bibles. Often when I scroll down a single verse by using Alt-down arrow, the Bible in the active pane will not actually scroll down (though the focus does shift to the next verse) but all linked Bibles will, in fact, scroll down a single verse. As a result, all my linked Bibles have the next verse at the very top of the pane, but the Bible in the active pane still has the preceding verse at the top. Again, I prefer the behavior that I saw in Logos 3 where all my linked Bibles had the same verse at the very top of the pane.

The observations of Craig and others is that verse by verse updating is expected/preferred and should be consistent. Whole chapter updating is not preferred especially as the behaviour is idiosyncratic! The same behaviour has been reported previously when scrolling with Text Comparison.

I've noticed these inconsistent behavior this past summer. I only reported such behavior when using the Word by Word in Exegetical Guide: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/20831/156252.aspx#156252
