There has been a few reported issues with Custom Visual Markup since it was introduced, which several user have expressed frustration with over several months, with no appearance of fixing.

I have had to write this application due to my own stupidity and desire to change CVM globaly having changes color schemes, but am releasing it to the community as it will also fix some of the reported frustrations

The Main 3 being:

1) Accidental Deletion of Custom style (why Logos cant check if it is currently in use and not let you is beyond me..)
2) Removal of Custom Markup for a specified style or for a whole book,
3) Changing existing Markup easily when you "improve it"

example.:

1. when you accidentally delete a Custom style you get this.. which you cannot change easily

my tweaker allows you to redeem this accident easily,

if a style is missing, it tells you, and you can change this to your new preferred custom style.

when Logos reopens, after updating, it shows as

The Global replace replaces ALL selected custom style markup in all book to your chosen colour.

The Standardise is there because I use various colour while studying,

at the end of the study or in several months the color is irrelevant, so I choose to standardise it and make it all one style, you may not wish to

I believe the purge options are self explanitory.

File is here 6648.CustomMarkup.zip

both files need to go in your  <Path to Logos4>\Documents\<random.idr> folder and run from there

I Hope you find it useful, should work on Win7 but only tested on Vista x64

Regards

DominicM

Wow - This is a great little tool.  Thanks!  I am using w7x64 and it seems to work just fine.

Are you taking any requests for future tweaks? [:D]

    Blessings-

no harm in asking,, however the default palletes (like solids) dont seem to accessible programattically or are stored elsewhere

I will likely add in a option to move CVM from one pallette to another, its just 00:30hrs here and have to try and get some sleep [:P]

Well, then - here it goes.  Since you are able to get to the markups, it would be great to get them all from a particular resource into a word document or pdf or able to print.  Here's my reasoning.   I mark things with different styles throughout my reading of a resource.  Some things are marked as a good quote and others are marked as devotional items.  I would love to get those all and individual resources from a resource in one place.  I have tried to search a resource with a "*" wildcard specifically looking for markups and it just takes forever to retrieve.  This may be too much, but if there are others who like it, maybe it might be worth it.

    Thanks![;)]

    Sorry John,
the markup is stored as a offset position in the resource rather than the actual text, because of this, unless Logos release it as a feature, and I would suggest adding it to uservoice,  I am unable to access the text directly so currently at present not possible.

    eg:Resource=LLS:CHRDAILYWALK|StartPosition=... ArticleLength...

There may be a Bug.  Note the following from Beyond the Cosmos by Hugh Ross.  The Highlighter pens used are yellow, red, and blue.

When I go to your app, they come up as follows...

    image

They show up as "oop-deleted-style".   Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Update

    Found a couple of bugs:

    1) Standardise Markup no longer brings up 2 dialog boxes
    2) Changes to Palletes and Markup will now sync to Logos server, for those who have multiple PC's [:D]
