Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint (LXX) Updates
Hi folks.
We have been working on the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint for over three years (see the introductory pre-pub post here), and we are now able to release an edition of the entire corpus, including the alternate texts!
I'm announcing this a bit pre-emptively as it is a crazy time of year for us, the time of the ETS and SBL national meetings. The release of the completed Lexham LXX Interlinear will happen sometime over the next week, but I'm unsure when and I will likely be out of the office when it happens. And I wanted to make sure folks knew the file sizes when the downloads become available. (Hey, if you're at ETS or SBL, be sure to stop by the Logos booth and say hi to us!)
Now, back to the LXX. What are these alternate texts? All of the places where Rahlf's edition splits the page to present alternate material: Some chapters of Joshua, an alternate edition of Judges, an alternate edition of Tobit, and the Theodotion version of Daniel (with Prayer of Azariah), Susanna and Bel and the Dragon.
Note that this also fixes issues the LXX interlinear had in its Bible data type implementation. It now is a full-fledged, Logos4 LXX Bible data type resource. (MJ Smith, insert rejoicing here).
There are two resources; one is an update of an existing resource (LLXXI), the other (LLXXIVAR) is new and contains the alternate texts. If you already have the LXX Interlinear, these resources are updates.
When they become available, hopefully some time over the next week, if you use Logos4 you'll probably be prompted to download them. If you use LDLS3, you'll need to grab them from ftp://ftp.logos.com/lbxbooks.
File Sizes
LLXXI.logos4: ~57MB
LLXXIVAR.logos4: ~3MB
LLXXI.lbxlls: ~72MB
LLXXIVAR.lbxlls: ~5MB
One item to note: In previous versions of LLXXI, the main resource (LLXXI) had the Theodotion version of Daniel (and additions). We now have translation of the Old Greek, and this is now the edition in the main resource. The Theodotion version is in the alternate texts resource, LLXXIVAR.

Rick,
On a slightly related note - since you are keeping us updated on all things LEB and SGNT - is there any chance they're going to do a print version of the LEB? I've used the NASB as my primarily Bible for 25+ years and have recently been trying to use the ESV as my main reading Bible. However, my brain "thinks" in NASB still. I find the LEB to be very close to the NASB, and I find myself using the LEB more and more as one of the first translations Iook at when studying. I'd love a print version.
Thanks,
Donnie

Great! Thanks!
How about making this thread 'sticky' for the next two-three weeks or so, to hopefully reduce the number of "What's downloading?"-questions by at least a few?
Actually, how about a separate forum at the top, only for messages from Logos employees (downloads, release notes, delayed shippings, and the like)?
(Have you seen this, btw: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/26114/192692.aspx#192692?)

Well, that deserves a really loud whoo-hoo!!! THANK YOU RICK (and those also working on it).
Sometimes on the Logos site pages, it tells you there'll be an update. Time passes and you do wonder. I'll admit it.
Now for Gottengen. Talk about a LXX Christmas.

Thanks for using the LEB! Right now, we have no firm plans regarding a print version. The closest we have are the PDFs for the LEB-SBLGNT reverse interlinear (http://sblgnt.com/download, on the bottom of the page).
We've talked about a few different possibilities, but just aren't ready to go there yet. Who knows; maybe we should pre-pub a print version and see what happens.

Howdy.

I don't think I have the permissions to make 'sticky' threads; but if one of the admins reading this does, please feel free to do so.

As my 3-year-old daughter would say, "That's a good idea!". We'll have to discuss it and see what happens.

Yes, and agree. I've suggested it too, the book is excellent. Everyone should flood suggest@logos.com requesting that one.

Hi Denise
Well, that deserves a really loud whoo-hoo!!! THANK YOU RICK (and those also working on it).
The translators did a great job, and the editor, Randall Tan, is the real star. I just got to put the puzzle together. But on behalf of all involved, you're welcome!

We'll try to keep this one to arriving in the next week. It has to be recompiled for shipping versions of the software, and then it needs some checks done, and there are a few items that need to happen on the web site to fully support it.
Now for Gottengen. Talk about a LXX Christmas.
Yay, Göttingen!

So what is the full list of items that we own but have not yet shipped?
[On the list of books there are some with footnotes – items that we own but that have not yet been published]

I believe this update has been posted. It took us a little while to work out some stuff on the commerce end, to make sure that when folks purchase the interlinear (http://www.logos.com/product/3613/lexham-greek-english-interlinear-septuagint ) they are prompted to download both associated resources.
Thanks for your patience on this one while we got things in order.

Was that because you just got 5000 votes or just a coincidence?

5000 votes on UserVoice + a REAL LXX ... I couldn't be happier - just wait until you see how I spend those votes.

Not even if you got full lectionary and calendar support and all the lectionaries you can think of? [;)]
