Last Update Hack:
Please think carefully before you decide to run it, it cannot be undone
unless you backup your "catalog.db", which might be a wise thing to do as this is an unsupported hack:
The Last Update Column added in 4.2 doesn't automatically fill with any dates for some older resources and for some 3rd party products.
Before appling hack, please look at both the pictures, to see the difference because it will change existing data,
Before:
the update date as far as I can tell is the date of download, this hack will set all dates to the local books' version date, however it will replace all dates
After:
Both files need placed in the <Logos4>Data\<random> folder an then run: SetLUdate.exe from there

Works like a charm. And helpful too; now I can see how far back the resources go. Thank you!!

What is the "local books' version date"? Is that different from the publication date (which is already separately available as a column in Library)?

"Publication date" is the year the book was publlished in paper, publication date is not not always changed to show electronic release (tho there are exceptions) ,
The Local version date is pulled from another database, which is used to poll the server to see if an newer revision of the book has been released.
It was a case of what to fill in the blank, to me this last book version date seemed the most logical (at least to me)

Dominic, it works like a charm. Now I can see that my oldest book is from 1980. :-)
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

So, to clarify, this hack will update the "Last Updated" column to the last time the file was updated by Logos, regardless of when I purchased or downloaded it?
If some people prefer a different unsupported hack which updates the column to the last time the file was updated by your computer, this post will help: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/24848/184938.aspx#184938

Yes Mark, that is correct
In that thread you asked:Mark Barnes said:As you say in the release notes, all the entries are for today. Please could this be pre-populated with the data from the updates table of UpdateManager/Updates.db so that the majority of resources have an accurate date from the beginning?
This populates the data from that table.. as per your original request. - made sense to me also..
You can have best of both worlds if you wish, after running mine, you can run the update in http://community.logos.com/forums/p/24848/184938.aspx#184938 to reset the last update date back to the last "download/update" date for those that exist.. I didnt see the point in even trying it before, but I have now run it, and it doesnt reset the other dates.. maybe its a win win situatuon to do both
Hope that clarifies it more

That's perfect. I now have my update date where it exists, and the file update date where it doesn't. The best of both worlds.

Thanks Dominic. It worked like a charm. The UI with progress bar is a nice touch.
