B4/B5 - not everything updated
In Beta 4, I did not have access to the updated AYBD. The file in my resources folder, after the latest mega updates, is still dated 5/10/2008.
In the last Beta, I did not have access to Biblical People. That file was not updated. I still cannot access this. I do not know if it will become available after indexing is complete (that will be in about 15 hours or so)
My files for Biblical People, Places, Things are all dated from the 1st October. I have 2 LCV.lbslcv files, one dated the 4th September. One dated 1st October. I'm pretty sure these are all out of date and render all of the tools useless.
I really don't like having NO control over the downloading of resources.

I would have thought that a failure of the automatic updating to work would be an issue worth investigating.

It must be an isolated problem because my files are updated and I can access Biblical People fine. Have you tried typing update now into the command box?

After B4, I ran the autopdate.exe program. I typed autoupdate now into the command bar.
I updated to Beta 5. I typed autoupdate now into the command bar.
Still no updated anchor bible dictionary.
The lack of Biblical People after Beta 4 was also inexplicable.
The lack of Biblical People, Things, Places is currently due to the fact that I haven't downloaded the last 300MB update.
I can't download anything else until the 15th of the month as I am edging dangerously close to my download cap. Logos is just not worth 10c / MB.

IC, 10c /MB is pretty steep! Beta 5 required a new version of Biblical People et al. meaning that the old version will not work. I'm still indexing my library and then I am going to search YABD to see if it is any different...

Cheap (!!!!) mobile internet in Australia. Thankfully, my plan runs on the mid-month so it starts again on the 15th. I'm bound to the mobile internet for the whole month of October. Would never have expected over 4GB in just two weeks from the Logos Beta.

Apparently the Headwords are fixed, You should be able to check this even unindexed. Just type Pharisees or Sadducees in the reference box. If there's only one item and it takes you straight to the articles then it's fixed.

Was that the problem? It was working fine when I checked when you first mentioned that so I guess I have the latest version. It is rather annoying not being able to see the version using 'about this resource'. hint hint.

Nor do I have the updated NJB. Who knows what else I do not have...
Is there any reason why I have received no response from anyone from Logos on this consistent issue?
It appears to me that there is a problem with the way in which the updating of resources is handled. Given that we now have NO control over updating our resources, I am very concerned about this...

Another user had to re-install, but seemed to get all their L4 resources from their Beta 6 download http://community.logos.com/forums/p/2499/19004.aspx#19004
It appears there are problems!

What I find incredibly frustrating is the fact that I have had these problems for two weeks now and not once have I received any indication that the problem exists or that a fix is in the works....
My trust in the "CLOUD" is rapidly decreasing.

The problem is that some of your resources haven't been updated to v4.0 specific editions? You mentioned NJB, but I don't believe we have updated that to a .logos4 edition yet. I don't know the status of AYBD. (One of the problems here is that there are different teams working on the code and the books, and it's mostly the code team in the forums.)
Are you also not getting updates of the Logos 4 specific resources, like people and places? Have you turned off any update or internet use settings?

Hi Damian,
Sorry for the late reply. I took a look at your account, and it shows that you bought AYBD in the LLS 2.x days. It looks like you've found a serious bug in the server; it seems to only be making resources available to those who first purchased them in Libronix format, not to those who imported them from LLS 2.x. LLS 2.x licenses (that have been synchronized with the server using LDLS3) are still valid in Logos 4, so I've filed a bug with the server team to get this resolved ASAP. Thanks for your persistence in keeping this issue alive.

Thank you finally for some response.
I'm glad that it was not all in my imagination. I don't know how many times I tried to update the resources to gain access to files which I knew that others had.
Biblical People, things, places were all finally updated this week.
Apparently a rebuilt NJB was sent out: see this discussion: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/2293/17840.aspx I do not have it.
I do have automatic updates turned off. I am on a very limited plan.
Knowing that I am missing the rebuilt NJB makes me wonder if I am missing some other rebuilt resources.

Still the NJB without references for Daniel 13
Still a faulty SESB BHS.
Still no idea which files are meant to have been updated but haven't. It's very hard to properly Beta test a program without a proper change log.

It appears the resource updater only looks for changes since the last update. But, if there was a problem with one of the updates, what happens???

Sorry for the very late reply—I somehow missed seeing your message. Joe Miller might be experiencing the same problem you were; the "update resources" command I mention in that thread (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/3000/23035.aspx#23035) is intended to be a command of last resort if there's a major bug (like the one you found) that causes your system to get out of sync with the server. (We hope that after the 4.0 release it should never be necessary to run it; "update now" should accomplish the same thing a lot more quickly by only looking for the latest changes.)
