Hiding resources design requests
I would like to ask for a couple of things in the hiding resources design:
1. A way to hide multiple resources at the same time. PLEASE. I had to drag and drop 355 resources one at a time to remove the unwanted ones that were added.
2. A search entry field in the Hidden Resources section of the Program Settings. If I want to unhide a resource, it's really hard to find it in the little scrollable window. I'd like to find a title by typing it--just like in the library.

CAN WE ALSO HAVE A RIGHTCLICK HIDE OPTION....?

Agree strongly with Todd's suggestions. Thank you Melissa. I also say ditto to Dominic's idea. I would love this.
I thought I posted this yesterday, but I cannot find it anymore, so I will post it here:
I hid resources on one computer, but that did not sync to my second computer (or my third). Is it supposed to? If I hide things on one, I want them hidden on all of my machines.

Hidden resources are synced between machines. Two reasons I can think of you might not be seeing this behavior.
1) The list of hidden resources does not refresh after initial creation. If a hidden resource create/delete is downloaded after the programs settings panel has been opened you will not see the change in data until the settings panel is reopened.
2) Probably more likely – support for synchronization of hidden resources did not exist until beta 7. If you upgraded MachineA to beta 7, created a hidden resource, and synced. Then moved to MachineB which had beta 6 installed and synced any time prior to upgrading to beta 7, the hidden resources would have been downloaded and ignored.
Are you able to sync changes in hidden resources between two beta7+ machines?

Both were B7 and now both are B8.
I have closed and opened the panels numerous times on both machines. I am positive that they are online and syncing.
Still no luck.
Any other ideas?

Have you hidden any new resources since upgrading to B8? If not please give that a try and I expect you will see the change sync to another B7 or B8 instance. If you want to pick up any missed hidden resources you can toggle their hidden status (hidden -> unhidden -> hidden) and the sync engine will pick them up as newly hidden.

Why not just have an option under the menu where system preferences is called Hide/Unhide Resources. You open it and a list of all your resources with a check mark next to it. Hidden is checked and unhide it by unchecking it. Or maybe it would be more intuitive to say show resources and uncheck those you don't want shown. Either way it would be so much easier than drag/drop.

Where can I toggle the hidden status. I cannot find what you are talking about.
Thanks!

Perhaps I was misleading. By toggle the hidden status I mean -
open Tools > Program Settings
expand Hidden Resources section
click the x on the right of one of your hidden resources to "unhide"
find that resource in My Library and drag to the Hidden Resources control to "hide"
then let a sync occur

Jerry,
Go to program settings and click the arrow to expand "hidden resources". Then open your library and drag and drop books you want to hide there.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

That's what I was afraid you meant.
I want to hide at least 200 resources. That is a lot of work to undo and do over.
But this is Beta, so I will try. Hope it is fixed in the future.

The upgrade issue has been resolved as of Beta8. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey Scott -
No worries. I signed up to be a Beta tester. Just was hoping it was not a permanent thing. Glad to hear it is good to go now.
Now how about that changing layouts thing where the program re-sizes?

CAN WE ALSO HAVE A RIGHTCLICK HIDE OPTION....?
This would be the easiest. When you are browsing the library, just right click and choose Hide.

I agree. In fact, I believe the entire hide/unhide logic should reside in the library browser. What does resource hiding have to do with program settings? Dealing with two dialogs only makes the process more cumbersome than necessary. All the logic to deal with resources is already in one place.
So, please Logos, move the hide/unhide section out of program settings to the library browser where it belongs.
