Bibliotheca Sacra Vol 1-90 Still Does Not Download in L4
I had some problems on my Windows PC, and had to reinstall the OS. When I installed L4, it automatically downloaded all my books except for Bibliotheca Sacra Vol 1-90. The problem is, I did not realize that I was missing these volumes until one day I noticed that my resource numbers did not match in my two installations of L4: L4Mac and L4PC. I now have the books in my library through a scan of the CD. This is not a complaint against the cloud, but it would be helpful if Logos would make sure that all the volumes that can be legally downloaded were available for automatic download. Otherwise, users may be uncertain if they have their entire library in their current installation of L4. I am glad that I figured out which volumes I was missing, but if I had been missing a single one volume work, it may have never made it back into my library. Bibliotheca Sacra Vol 1-90 has been out for a year, so it would seem that this resource has had ample time to make it onto the automatic download servers. Please do not make this an anti-cloud thread. This is just a plea for Logos to begin to address those resources that should be available for automatic download.

A question about this. Volumes 1 - 90 would seem to be from before 1934. Is that correct? If so, can anyone point me to where I can buy these from Logos? I searched the web site for these earlier volumes but only found the later volumes or the Theological Journal Libraries (which I already have).
Thanks,
Donnie

Check out Galaxie.com . . .

The background on this (as far as I can remember) is that some of the journal files from Galaxie have caused problems with Logos 4. Logos yanked the files from their servers and in this case I don't know whey they haven't been fixed; but I suspect that Galaxie has not gotten around to fixing whatever the issue was yet.

Here's a link to the thread:
Issues activating/using Bibliotheca Sacra Volumes 1-90
In a nutshell.
Galaxie's website must have the corrected files for download which will then need to be placed in your logos resource file so Logos can continue the next step in its process of indexing.
The solution is near the bottom of the thread after Adrian Warnock begins replying.

The link seems to be to a Mac specific issue unless this has developed with recent builds/versions of Logos 4.
My Windows vista PC seems to have been fine with Bibliotheca Sacra vol 1:1 from Feb 1844 (and others subsequent that I have tried to access) but my copy was licensed under Libronix 3 and moved to Logos 4 shortly after the release of Logos 4. So there have been versions of the files that have worked in Logos 4.
I assume any versions at the Galaxie site are Libronix 3 versions.

Yes, but Logos 4 can read and index Libronix books.

I own BibSac 1-90. As far as I know you have to download the files from Galaxie or load from CD via "scan". They were pulled from PC installs too because of version problems and our systems would loop continuously trying to update the resources with no success. I don't know why this hasn't been fixed, it must be going on a year.

This bug is tracked at http://wiki.logos.com/Bug$3a_Various_issues_with_downloading_of_Galaxie_files; it affects both Mac and Windows.
Last I heard, our resource development department was aware of the issue; I'll bring it up again. (There are complicating factors: the problem is caused by resources being published under two different resource IDs in the past and no matter which ID we choose, users who have attached notes/favorites/highlights/etc. to the "wrong" ID will lose that data unless we write special code to transfer the annotations, but then we need to examine all historical versions of that resource that we can find and verify that they were all built in the same way, etc. I'm not making excuses, I'm just saying that it's complicated. [:)])

I have no problem recognising the Bib Sac files, but they do not operate correctly.
They are searched ok, but 1. footnotes will not display & 2. Only headings activate a hyperlink to the article. The actual search hit when clicked on, brings up a "this resource is not in your library" thingy.
Does anyone know when this will be fixed? I have the same files as on Galaxie's server.

This is an issue you should contact Logos CS about, but I suspect you will have to live with it.
