Having learned that "Cited by" is the replacement for the Reverence Browser (why the change in name?), I set out to check it. I used John 3.16 in the Early Church Fathers. I don't know whether it finds the same list as the Reference Browser would in 3.0, but I note the same problem I had noted in 3.0 already. WHAT IS THE ORGANIZING PRINCIPLTE? I get NPNF listings then ANF listings then NPNF listings again (possibly one group of NPNF being series 1 and the other series 2). Why are the search results organized in the fashion they are presented rather than going straight down the line?

George, it's a "ranked" basic search for the bible reference.
For an explanation of ranking see: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/2769.aspx

And how does one rank a biblical reference? A reference is a reference is a reference. Give me (for want of a better term) "canonical order", i.e. straight down the list in order.

I agree... I've written several times on the Cited By tool and on the issue of Ranking.
Ranking is hits/word count. So you're seeing them in that order....
