Not quite as exciting as we might hope (at least, it's not PBB). It's actually http://vyrso.com/ which is designed to help sell Logos books to non-Logos iPhone/iPad user. There's a brief note from Bob here.

Well, if this is the case, then "coolest website ever" comes close to being the "biggest overstatement ever".

I wonder if this could be related in any way to Apple's new policy for ebook readers?

If this is simply another type of ebook reader for the iOS, why would Logos invest money into building it if they aren't sure how stuff will play out with Apple in the next month or so?

I think it's more because you don't get access to the iPhone app unless you own Logos 4. That makes Logos e-books very unappealing to 'ordinary' iPhone and iPad users. Vyrso is a cut-down version of the app, without some of the Logos tools, but available to users without Logos 4.

It's exciting if you're not a Logos 4 user, just not to us.

Yeah cater to the Apple iOS users who do not own Logos, but continue to push off the Android users who have helped build and support Logos with their purchases... This is why my original rant that led to Bob's elegant post on the going ons questioned the committment of Logos to other platforms beyond Apple.

Before all the Apple lovers call me an Apple hater... I could care less if that is their path... Just make it very clear and stop wasting the rest of our time! There are many manufacturers who change direction... Be honest with your words as much as your actions show proof of your path... Everything with any relevance being released is catering to Apple iOS....

If the new Vyrso is what I hope it is, it WILL be pretty cool. In Bob's post he said that Vyrso would be for trade books. I hope this means that we will have access to some of the most recent books from Christian authors. Personally, I could care less about fiction, but what about books by Francis Chan; Craig Groeschel; Andy Stanley; John Maxwell; Mark Driscoll; (Fill in your favorite author here). Most of these books don't fall into the normal Logos scheme, but they are books that I would prefer to have on my Mac & iPad. It would be great if these books could be highlighted and searchable notes could be added.

If Logos did this, I would buy ALL of my books from them.

How do you know that this is what they were referring to? A recent tweet by Logos said they were about to release a bunch of websites, close in number to the 22 they already have.

sleepless excitement over a pre-launch that says "coming soon?" I officially recognize Dan as the biggest....well, most passionate...Logos fan. :-)

Hey guys, I just wanted to jump in here for one quick sec to clear up a few things, and make sure there are no hard feelings on the "coolest website ever" tweet.

Rosie is amazing. She obviously never sleeps, and keeps up on somewhere close to an infinite number of things.

You may have not noticed in all the excitement, that the original tweet that started this was an"@ reply" to @KentHendricks. That means, someone would have to be following me and Kent both in order for that tweet to show up in most readers, or Rosie was for some crazy reason surfing my Twitter page (or an equivalent) at midnight. It was a private tweet, from my private account, at close to 1 am. That's not exactly trying to get the word out, or making a public/official declaration of corporate policy.  [:)]

We just hired a great new guy that has jumped in with both feet and hit the ground running. He was up working at the office until well past midnight on Vyrso.com, and as I was working with him, I wanted to encourage him and thank him publicly for being such a remarkably dedicated newbie. His contribution was exceptional.

In addition, when I saw a post from one of my other guys about not being able to sleep, I teased him with the idea of coming back to work privately, and "baited" him with the "coolest website ever" comment.  ...oh right, and a winking eye to show I was teasing.  ;-)
