I have click on Logos to start it and it has gone to the screen that I have seen many times..."Preparing your library. This may take a while..." Well it has NEVER taken this long. I am approaching an hour. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
It happened to me once, but it was only for 15 minutes while it scanned "my sermons" from my libronix sermon file. But an hour, that's quite a long time. Do you have libronix installed, if so, it's probably reading a lot of content from it other than that, I have no idea.
G'luck with that one!

Kill the Logos4 Indexer in Task Manager then enable permanent loggging, restart L4 and upload the logs.
Thank you but where do I "enable permanent logging" and what does it mean to "upload the logs"? I use a computer but I am afraid I do not know all the technical stuff. I did open the Task Manager and kill Logos 4.

The words 'enable permanent logging' and 'upload the logs' in Dave's message are in blue because they are actually links to the pages in the wiki he wants you to read and act on. Click on the words and you will be taken to the correct page.
Okay. Thanks. Got it all going!!!!
Okay I hope this is what you have asked for.

One more question...if there anything around this until it is fixed. I REALLY need to get into my Logos.
Clayton,
First I notice you are a couple of Logos versions behind (the current version is 4.2a SR-1). So first thing, type Update Now in the Command Bar and hit enter. Logos should start checking to see if there is an update and then offer to download it. You want to do this as it is possible whatever is the problem has been fixed in a later version.
Second, the problem seems to be with a Reverse Interlinear. Update Logos and see if you get another crash. If you do, zip together all the log files (not just the crash one) and attach them.
Secondly, my Logos never gets pass this first screen to let me do anything else.
Please post compressed file with diagnostic log files (including Logos4.log and Logos4Index.log along with any current crash files). Several Logos users have skill reading diagnostic logs and live in various time zones worldwide.
Keep Smiling [:)]
I hope this is what you are asking for.

Close - was hoping for one zip file containing 3 files.
Logos4Crash.txt file is old (30 Jan 2011); can be deleted.
Logos4.log file appears OK; shows Logos 4.2b SR-1 (4.22.5.1109) was opened briefly yesterday, then closed.
However, Logos4Indexer.log file has an error that looks similar to => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/24771/184330.aspx#184330 (includes several ideas from Bradley Grainger).
Wonder about folder and file permissions for 'C:\Users\Clay Womble\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\5bcm5wsd.0du\LibraryCatalog/catalog' since one or more catalog index file(s) cannot be replaced.
Curious if "run as administrator" was used to install Logos 4 ?
The problem is that Logos is unable to update your Library Catalogue. I think the safest thing for you to do is to delete it manually. So, with Logos closed, delete ALL the files in this folder: C:\Users\Clay Womble\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\5bcm5wsd.0du\LibraryCatalog
Next, restart Logos (making sure logging is still turned on). Because you have now deleted the Catalog, Logos will attempt to re-create it. This could take as long as 30 minutes, depending on the speed of your computer and the size of your library. From the logs, there's a possibility that it has a new catalogue ready and waiting, so it might not take that long.
But, the point is, you'll need to wait for at least 30 minutes at the "Preparing Your Library" stage before you'll know whether this fix worked. If it doesn't work, can you re-upload new logs.
