Logos 4 for Mac Screenshots
For those of you who may be wondering about the status of the Macintosh version and what it might look like, I present the following screenshots:
Although the art is far from final, you can see that many feature areas are coming along quite nicely.

That is great news! Phil says I am on the list to beta test, so I am excited to help when I can :-)
If you buy me a Mac I'll help you beta test, too. [:D]

Very nice. I'm ready for it whenever you're ready to send it to me.

Just don't make me eat one.

Philip, geesh. I am already helping with your Windows version, but you always want more... Okay, I give. Here is your Mac.
I've noticed a couple messages where it seems like I'm getting confused with Phil G. I could be wrong, but....
At any rate, typing on a Big Mac might get kinda...whats the word....

Did you think I was referring to you in my first post? LOL No, that was a reference to my communication with Phil G about being on the beta test list for the Mac version.0 -

David, I am running the current alpha now on Nov 3rd... almost 1 month after you posted these screenshots. however, I notice that search and passage guide do not work. Were these live screenshots of a working Alpha or artwork of what you want it to do? If the former, why does the current Alpha, now a month older in development, have fewer features than on Oct 5?

Those were live screenshots, but they were created after successfully completing a full round of indexing.
In the weeks leading up to the release of Logos 4, many books and resources were rebuilt, and we did not have a chance to adequately test the Mac indexer before everything went live. We're working as hard as we can to iron out the last few issues, and I'm relatively confident that by the end of the week (at the latest!), the application should be stable enough that you can finish your indexing and see something more like the screenshots that we posted.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing crashes or other issues--especially indexer crashes--I'd encourage you to visit this page and post a log file: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/3311/25213.aspx

All known issues with indexing on the Mac have been fixed in the most recent build (which is live).

That's not totally unexpected behavior...just bear with it, and it will eventually finish.

It was not typical during the L4win Beta process. [:^)]
So David, are you suggesting that the inability to index overnight is the typical behavior and we should expect no improvement on the indexing?
or
are you saying there are indexing bugs to be worked out, so bear with it until it is fixed?

There are performance issues with indexing on the Macintosh that have yet to be fully investigated and addressed. We'll get to them, eventually; for now, please be patient.
