The only thing I like about surprises more then anticipating them is getting them :-)
Just realized what this probably is so I don't want anyone to get there hopes up. This computer has been in the shop for a little while and I have been using my wife's computer. I'm just getting caught up on some past updates and resource downloads.
Not cool Philip! I just restarted Logos for nothing. [:p]
I promise I had the best of intentions :-)
Just pulling your doggy chain there HH. Thanks to Layouts it was a breeze.
It's funny when he runs in circles around the tree he's chained to. The chain keeps getting shorter and shorter.
you don't know how many times I've done that and ended up whacking the tree. Why do you think I wear a mask?.....black eyes.
Not cool Philip! I just restarted Logos for nothing.
That's what comes of being hooked on the need for instant gratification - I should know, as I'm a fellow addict!
[Y] I resemble that remark!

I am not an addict. I just want more. I can leave these forums any time I choose.
....eagerly anticipating your reply.....
When did you last choose? And for how long? My new, very stroppy dongle tends to choose for me. It also chooses on which computer I can do Internet... I choose to endure it for the rest of the month, as next month I shall be abroad, so to pay for 3 months dongle use when I'm only here for 2 of them seems like a false economy. Plus I'd bought the dodgy dongle before i LEARNED THAT the better company, which had run out of dongles, was expecting a new supply this week. The good one lasts 3 months, unlimited. The dodgy one lasts 6 months, 1 gig per month. While I'm away, and afterwards if they still have the good ones, I'll lend/give the dodgy one to my friend and colleague. With luck she'll be able to do email and facebook at home instead of having to come into town.
When I first came to Albania in 93, we had one phone in the village, on which we could receive calls but not make them. That went in 97, when Albania blew up and everyone went mad and they stole the line to sell for scrap copper. Now with cellphones and internet, albeit slow, we don't know we're born! Little kids have cellphones, 15 year old boys have motorbikes - and everyone's addicted to instant gratification....
And I'm OT, but that's because I'm indisciplined... I shall now wash up and go to bed with John Woolman (on Vyrso!). My iPad fell on my nose last night when I fell asleep reading.... Maybe I'll go for something lighter on Kindle, easier on the nose if it lands there, less likely to suffer hurt if it should fall further, and less expensive to mend/replace should disaster befall it. As I said, we don't know we're born these days! Kindle and iPad were not instant gratification - I had to wait months before I went to England and could get them.
Nicky, just gotta say that whole post was great. Thanks for the giggles, and watch the nose.
I note you managed to defer instant gratification by leaving the forum for a few hours!
Thanks for your encouragement - I was a bit worried I'd overstepped the mark and bored or shocked people, or both...
the bad part is that I just did that before I read your post closely enough to understand what was going on!!
Definitely not cool

:-) Good thing we're not addicted.
Oh nevermind. Denial is hard work.
Instead of 1 GB, have 469.7 MB downloading (according to Logos 4 pop-up).

What is it? I stopped it after downloading 1% as 400+ would finish my present 1 Gig monthly allowance, and found I had about half the Ramsey download I was expecting. What's the rest? I shall rush into church after the women's meeting this afternoon to get some more of it - not all, as their internet is better than mine but not superfast - but I would like to know whAT'S DOWNLOADING, WHETHER IT'S WORTH GETTING EXCITED ABOUT, OR WHETHER i CAN PAINLESSLY defer gratiification......

Gratification was less delayed than I expected. The church internet has got its skates on! The download was just Ramsey collection and Philemon EEC. How it reached that size remains a mystery...

Not if you read here.

Thank you for explaining the mystery. Must be a parable in that - for every mystery there's an explanationand the fact that I can't understand it doesn't mean it's not true - e.g. Trinity...
