Will Tolkien make it to Vyrso?
Since it is the 74th Birthday for the Hobbit I can't help but wonder if the books by rather than about J.R.R. Tolkien are going to make it into Vyrso?
The Hobbit?
LOTR?
Silmarillion?

Well, bless his furry little feet, I hope so.

One copyright to bind them all, forged deep in the heart of Mordor I'm afraid... [li][6][li]

I just had the oddest thought a moment ago of using the linguistics tools in Logos to labor on Sindarin, Dwarvish, Westron and perhaps even "the black tongue of Mordor".
I think I need more coffee. [c]

J. R. R. Tolkien Available as E-books for the First Time!
Ahem. Vyrso director: did you read the article above? And what exactly are you going to do about it?
Pretty please.

Here's the book I'd like to have in Logos as a dictionary-type resource along with the novels:
http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Middle-Earth-Robert-Foster/dp/0345449762/
So I can double-click on a person/place/thing in a Tolkien book and quickly get a description and history of that thing.

Me too. I have it in paperback but that form is now like the outer courts of the temple. It would be much more useful from within my Logos library.

That would be cool!

When Logos gets The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings I will purchase them without a second thought.

Before I bought my first ereader (a Sony) I made sure that I could get
Tolkien's works in that format - they were, and I did! Now that I have
moved to a Kindle, I continue to enjoy not only LOTR, but Unfinished
Tales, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion as well. It makes them easier to read, but
that doesn't mean that I will be getting rid of my deluxe 'dead tree'
editions any time soon! [:D]Should Logos get versions, I suppose I will have to have them too....

It has been a year, we're moving into the 75th anniversary of this work. Yes it's not a Bible, but it is TONS better than any amish romance.
Give me the Hobbit!
Can we have it by September 22, the anniversary of Bilbo (and Frodo) Baggin's Birthday?

Maybe they'll discover an unpublished manuscript of Tolkien's only romance novel. Jenna's Hobbit.

Actually rumors are it was a trilogy with sequels: Courting Miss Brandybuck and The Widow of the Green Dragon Inn
(but it might have just been one story to be published in three volumes)

Tolkien's unpublished romance was published by his son Christopher. That'd be the lay of Beren and Lúthein. It's been done.
But now that you've brought it up, let's have The Sillmarillion as well.

Hi TCBlack,
Thanks for passing along the information, we're really excited about getting Tolkien's content soon! The link that you included is taking me to the HarperCollin's homepage. Did you mean to link to a different page? The URL looks like it should point somewhere else, but it keeps directing me to the homepage.

Yes I want these resources in Logos as well.
I haven't read Chris Tolkeins title... Was it worthwhile? The comments in the thread make me think no.

I finally gave up a few months ago and got them in Kindle. [:(] Sorry, Logos.

Yes! This is the most exciting news I've heard all week! Possibly even all year. There are lots of HarperCollins books that I've wanted to see available in Vyrso, particularly their HarperSanFrancicso titles (which would include C.S. Lewis, Frederick Buechner, Thomas Merton, Richard Foster, Eugene Peterson, Henri Nouwen, and many more).

C. S. Lewis in Logos/Vyrso would be great!
