I am having trouble making the text for songs bigger. Going to customize and clicking the button to make the font size bigger does nothing. It is unusable for us, as the words are just too small.

I have made this suggestion as well. It is nearly impossible to customize the fonts enough to be acceptable. Are there any plans to fix this?
To make the text for a song larger you need to both set a font size and make sure that the box holding your text is large enough to support the larger text.
Here is an example of some text at 80pt font:
Below is the same slide, with the same font size, but with a smaller text box. You will see that Proclaim has been forced to shrink the text (even though it is still set to 80) to fit the small box:
It is possible that this still doesn't help solve your problem, but I would double check to make sure your text box size isn't the culprit.
Thank you for the images! However it doesn't help. I am beginning to believe it is a text formatting issue. That is to say that certain text(s) has the ability while others do not. I will try and post some today.
Another factor impacting text size is how long the lines are.
Proclaim doesn't want to break the lines where you didn't break them.
Proclaim doesn't want to use different font sizes within the same song: that would be distracting.
Therefore, the size of the font used in each song is limited to whatever font will allow the longest line to fit.
If you try breaking long lines in your song into multiple lines, you may find the font size you seek. One long line is enough to reduce the font size for the entire song!
Ditto! This solved the issue for me. I had to scroll through all the lyrics of the song and find where the one place was that the lyrics were too big to fit into the slide allotment. If one section in the whole song is too big, it will decrease the font size of the entire song to maintain the same size throughout. Find that one area and fix it, and the entire song will fit to your larger font size.
Iunderstand the concept yet am unable to do what I wish:
1.) Move the text to the top of the screen
2.) Adjust text size larger after doing this (even with the box size as Max).
