Suggestion: Way to limit which books are available in Vyrso
In order to make Vyrso really useful to me, I need a way to indicate which books I want available in Vyrso. This list woul dbe different than the books I want available in Logos for the desktop or Logos for my tablet/phone. I would like to have only books appear in Vyrso that I want to sit and read. Whereas in Logos for Android, I appreciate having access to a wider selection of books, since it can fulfill a light study purpose. Otherwise, I don't see any reason to have a separate reader app. The Logos app is just as good.
By default I would like all books that I bought in Vryso would appear in Vyrso and nothing more. Perhaps there could be a list of additional books available in Logos, similar to to the Archived Items list in the Kindle reader app. In Kindle I can remove the clutter by archiving books. It also has other groupings (e.g. for periodicals). So perhaps there could be several categories, either as groupings (like in Kindle) or with checkboxes to select the types of books I want to see:
- All items
- Vyrso books
- Logos books
- Archived items (for books I would rarely want to look at, like the Hidden Resources in Logos 4).
I also think Vyrso should have a different list of hidden or archived books than Logos 4. Ideally the desktop and Logos app and Vyrso would each have their own list of hidden resources. For example, I would never want to read any of the Perseus books or individual New Testament Greek manuscripts in Vyrso. But I do want access to them for the desktop. Conversely, I really don't want novels in Logos for the desktop. I would just put them in the Hidden Resources box, but then they would not be available in Vyrso.

For starters, you can type "ebook" into the library search box and it will show you only your Vyrso books.
Wish for "ebook" library filtering in Vyrso (and Logos) mobile apps when offline; currently finds one resource with Ebook in title in my resources downloaded for offline use. In contrast, when online, then "ebook" is useful for library filtering.

You could download the books you want in Vyrso and then use it offline. I have to do this as I have no wifi at home. It works OK for me.

I agree with the original poster of this thread. I want an easy way to select just the books I have downloaded to my device for use on Vyrso and if this is Logos answer for an ebook app then please make it like one and include features found in other reader apps like book marks, chapter breaks, etc.

I appreciate this thread in helping to verbalize something I have found cumbersome with Vyrso:
When I purchase books, or have taken advantage of the free books, i have found it very hard to know which books I need to make available offline for reading, or to show my family what books they can now read. I have to open my 'orders' page off my account on one computer and then search those books in Vyrso one by one. That gets tedious. For me (unli9ke most of you) I don't have internet at home, too. I have to do this at work, which complicates it. here are some quick random thoughts:
- have a "recently purchased" collection in Vyrso so I can make those off line.
- when I am purchasing them, have a check mark to "make them offline available" immediately
- i didn't know about the "ebook' filter. thanks!
- I would still like an option in vyrso (and probably logos app, too) to view only my "offline" products. That would be helpful in several circumstances, I just don't have time to enumerate them right now. In other words: instead of viewing thousands of available resources when internet is on, just see which ones are available offline. The "ebook" filter will not be able to do that.
I like Apples. Especially Honeycrisp.

for starters, we should not HAVE to do this. When one buys a Cadillac, there is an expectation of a certain level of sophistication. Sure it has twice as many parts as any entry-level car, but the experience is more intuitive and pleasant. Many things are highly configurable, but are done with a touch of a button, NOT with 8 clicks!

Agreed, but why the tone? I was just giving a suggestion for how to make it more workable now? Sheesh.

I appreciated your suggestion to type "ebook" into the library search box to show only my Vyrso books; however, when I did that the only text that came up on my Android app was "No Resources", but I did locate my ebooks by just scrolling down the long long list. Hopefully, a future app will be able to just list the ebooks and filter out the books I did not purchase online.

Shedd - Welcome to the forums!
Several thoughts:
- Technically the search should be edition:ebook but ebook can work too (but would include books with ebook in the title)
- This suggestion should work with the iOS version of the app, but I have no idea about the android version. You might want to check the Andriod forum.
- I am currently beta testing the newest version of the iOS app (2.1 b2) and this technique does not work. I am assuming that this is a regression bug to be worked out.

Most all Logos resources are purchased online. Is there something you are wanting to do that I am not understanding?

I just want to second this suggestion, since I came to this forum for that reason. I have the platinum version of Logos 4 with manuscripts, latin books, and commentaries. Plus I have bought hundreds of journals. This makes for a very frustrating experience. You have to know the name of the book if you want to read it. I just want to browse the books for reading that I have bought on Vyrso as opposed to Logos. In one way it is good to have the books available in both, but I don't really care to have novels in Logos and manuscripts in Vyrso.
Another issue is that if I want to read a book in Logos and in Vyrso for Android (for instance NKJV), it is necessary to download twice. Is there a way to stop this duplication?
Vyrso and Logos is one of the main reasons I bought a tablet. I want to just sit and read the books I have as opposed to sitting at a desk. TF

As I believe has be stated in this thread, there are ways to do this with the iOS app. The Andriod app is behind in many ways, and only recently came out of beta.

It would be better to post this question in the Andriod forum. (This forum is really more designed to talk about Vyrso books & store than the Vyrso app.) On iOS, apps are sandboxed and data such as this cannot be shared. I am not sure how Andriod/Logos app functions in this regard.

On Vyrso Android v1.1.2, entering "ebook" in the library search bar will return ebooks+anything with "ebook" in the title (like "sourcebook")...I get lots of hits like this.
edition:ebook is not yet supported.

Hi Ward,
Just so you know, current Android Logos developer builds include all library search filters supported in the Desktop product, including edition:ebook.
