Description

When you Alt+Tab to switch to another app and then back again to Logos, if you had the Library window open before you switched, it is gone when you return to Logos.

Repro

  1. Open Logos 4
  2. Click on Library icon
  3. Alt+Tab away from Logos
  4. Alt+Tab back to Logos

Actual Result

Library window is gone.

Expected Result

Library window should still be up.

System Specs

  • Probably irrelevant, but running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP1

Comments

This happens to me quite frequently: I'm looking for a book in my library and forget what the name of it is, so I switch out to look at Logos 3 or some website where I saw it mentioned, and then come back to Logos, and my Library window is gone. The Library tab behaves differently in this respect than the Home and Search tabs do, and the inconsistency is annoying. In Logos 3, the Library stayed up if you switched apps back and forth (not that Logos 3 has to be the model for how everything behaves in Logos 4, but I found that small nice touch quite useful and relied on it a lot).

The Library button actually brings down the Library as a Menu, if you notice in any other program when a menu is open, it will disappear if you navigate out of the window. This is 'by design' and not actually a bug. If you would like the Library to stay you can click-drag it into a section of the current layout and it will remain.

Yes, I knew it was a menu item but was used to the way it worked as a dialogue box before in L3, which wouldn't go away when you switched apps.

Cool! Thanks. I didn't realize you could float the Library menu item. That solves my complaint.

    Rosie,

If you right-click on the Library Icon it also gives you the option to open in a tab and to open in a floated window.
