Where is Index to Hymns in "Near to the Heart of God"?

According to the info for the book "Near to the Heart of God", there should be an index to the hymns.  I couldn't find it in the left margin, nor did I see it scrolling through the book.  Just wondering if I am the only one who couldn't find it or if it actually is missing from the book, as it would be helpful to be able to click on a list of dates to get to the devotional for that date....thanks in advance.

Maybe you need to do this by yourself....

I made a Personal Book from this (no, I can't upload for copyright reasons, but it's easy with Copy to Word and replacing all 16p text with a Heading style) - mainly to try and do a Reading Plan from it, but I'm not yet where I wanted it to be. Should be easy to generate an index - if I come to it, I'll post it here.

Your book is neither indexed by title or first line.  It's only indexed by date.   Those indexes should be somewhere in the text of the book (probably the end) and they are not. I'm not sure making them manually will be a trivial task.

This is an issue I have with Vyrso.  Who do we complain to?  Logos says they can't fix typos or other problems with the book.  It's all the responsibility of the publisher.

In this case, they'll probably just update the description to remove that sentence.

    Todd,

sorry, I didn't check this forum over all the other discussions here, thus I missed your answer.

yes I know that my book is not yet indexed - I'm still intending to do this (there is an automated indexing function in Word, but it has been some time since I last used it).

Of course, this should be part of the resource, but it isn't and that's what intrigued me to see whether I can find a workaround - after all I share your concerns that Logos won't (can't) do much to Vyrso-books

While an index would be nice, given that it's not likely Logos will provide this, you can always get directly to a hymn (or check whether it's listed at all in the book) by searching for it using Ctrl+F and typing its title in.

    Rosie,

    Thanks for the tip.

Now why couldn't I think of that?

Most Vyrso books are not ones that anyone would really want Logos to do anything with (i.e. Amish Romance Novels). A significant amount have scripture references in them, and Logos has an automated procedure to give us hyperlinks to those verses.

You shouldn't have any concerns because Logos "won't do much" to them. Thousands of books have been added which would not have been added otherwise. A small amount are ones which would be candidates for being "Logos Editions," but would you rather have the book now in Vyrso, or wait several years for the book to be made available in a Logos edition, if ever?

That's a good point. I could see doing more to non-fiction titles (it would make them more useful for small groups) but fiction books don't really need extra tagging!

My concern is text errors (or typos).  Every Vyrso book I've bought so far has been rife with them.  The book I'm reading now (The Secret Providence of God) has random words inserted in the text here and there (usually in the middle of another word) and footnotes are often mislinked to the wrong text.   Clearly, if ebooks are to replace paper books, then the quality needs to match.  I can report typos all day long, but I have no expectations that the errors will be fixed.

Most of these errors look like the result of electronic processing rather than actual typos.  In the case of the broken footnote links, this is probably a bug in the text converter because the footnotes exist in the main text without error (as endnotes), which makes those errors Logos' responsibility.  I'm hoping that Logos is at least looking at the typo reports for Vyrso books.
