Bug on start up

G'day,

On version 4.3 and then also on version 4.5 when I started up logos would crash.

I then tried starting holding the command button, chose blank screen. it seemed to start ok, but when I went to another layout it crashed again.

Attached are the two logs that were sent to apple + the log from logos4mac that I had after crashing the last time.

Looking at Logos4.log file, appears Logos 4 Mac was opened after crash, which overwrote crash information.

Yesterday Logos released 4.5 SR-3 that includes couple crash fixes.

Wonder about updating to 4.5 SR-3, enabling diagnostic logging, then launch Logos 4 Mac, repeat crash, compressing log files, followed by reply with zip file upload ?

Option: download and use an applescipt application 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.

Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac with terminal commands, which are used in the applescript application.

Wiki Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac has the log posting steps, including link to Logos Log Scribe application to create a zip file on your desktop (copies console messages, then compresses contents of your Logging folder for posting).

Since using stable 4.5 version, other option is contacting Logos Mac Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact

Hey guys, I am having the same problem, super frustrating...I need my books for class. I don't know exactly what 4.5 SR-4 is..sorry my computer lingo is sketchy at best, could you maybe break this down for a noobie like me? I would love for logos to quit crashing at startup...thanks

re 4.5 SR-4... this is the latest automatic update I have received.

1. If you can get logos started click "logos bible software 4" on the file menu, then choose "about logos bible software 4". At the top it will show the version of the software you are running. Mine presently reads "Logos Bible Software 4.5 SR-4 (4.50.0.1889)" here.

2. Another number that refers to the version can be found by going opening a new "finder" window, clicking on "applications" then right clicking "logos bible software 4.app" and choosing "get info"... Mine presently reads "4.50.1889" here.

First try and find what version you are running. If it is the latest, begin following the links posted above about logging bugs and trouble shooting.

Your logos should update automatically on start up, but if it hasn't, follow the links to trouble shooting. there are ways to update if it doesn't do so automatically.

It won't stay open long enough, it keeps crashing upon opening...I checked the finder and I am running the 4.50.1889, how does one update manually?

Wiki Mac Troubleshooting => Update Error has manual update steps. Caveat: 4.50.1889 is the current stable Logos 4.5 version.

Would like to look at diagnostic log files.

Wonder about enabling diagnostic logging, restarting Mac, launching Logos 4.5 SR-4. If start up crash repeats, then please compress log files, followed by reply with zip file upload.
