Community pricing is effective at bringing prices down, but I'd like to suggest two ways to make it even more so.
1) When a resource hits the limit for bids to close, allow at least a week for further bids to push the price even lower. Recent commentary collections illustrate this. Those on James had a number of days before closing and the price fell by at least $15 before the deadline hit. Those on Ephesians had just two or three days and the price didn't fall from the peak.
2) When a resource hits the limit for bids to close, allow smaller increments. This will not only reduce the price for those who have bid, making happier customers, but it will also mean that resources are spread more widely as more people buy them. I think Logos intends to get useful resources out to as many people as possible, so this fits with Logos' aims without heavily reducing profit margins, as overheads are automatically covered.
I think this should be automated so that it's not missed by Logos. For other good suggestions, see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/36104.aspx, noting that the suggestions threads rarely get as much attention as the general threads.
