Scrolling Takes CPU Usage Through The Roof
I'm running Logos with only one resource open (BSac volume 146). Nothing else is open in Logos. When I scroll up and down in this resource, the Logos CPU usage spikes in Activity Monitor...up to 120%+ just now. Usage remains elevated as long as I am scrolling. The only other apps I have open are Activity Monitor and Safari to write this note. I hadn't looked at this closely before, but I noticed my battery life on my 2011 MacBook Pro was awful using Logos which led me to explore this path. I am using 4.5b Beta 5 (4.52.0.1957). Is this normal behavior for other users who have monitor CPU usage? I do not have this issue with any of the other Mac apps that I use. Thanks.

Here is a screen print. Not sure if it matters, but the "Real Mem" number for Logos in the Activity Monitor also keeps growing while this is going on.

With the same resource, CPU varied between 60% & 100%. Same with Volume 148 and with NICNT Volume on Romans. Probably consistent through all resources. If you can still edit your first post, your might prefix "BUG" to the thread title to gather Logos' attention.

Using Logos 4.5b Beta 7 with a Magic Trackpad and rapid scrolling, was able to briefly hit 100.5 % CPU in Believer's Bible Commentary with resource font scaling up two notches. Using a scroll wheel on a Logitech TrackMan Marble Wheel, could only achieve a more pedestrian 51.4 % for a little while on a 2.93 GHz i7; most scrolling is smooth with CPU usage typically less than 50 % on my 27" iMac. Scrolling up quickly through all of 1 Corinthians commentary in 23 seconds using Magic Trackpad, briefly achieved 102.5 % CPU usage (with some scrolling lags). Screen shot shows my resource size for scrolling:
Observation from your screen shot, noticed a number of 32 bit processes running (e.g. CLRecorder2.0.0 and Camtasia 2). In contrast, on my Mac with little else open, only Logos 4.5b Beta 7 is running 32 bit. Apologies: not know if other processes are affecting Logos 4 Mac performance (especially CLRecorder2.0.0).

One more Logos 4 Mac scrolling thread => Erratic Scrolling
Using Logos 4.5c Beta 1 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, repeated scrolling in ESV with 7 Logos Greek Morphology visual filters enabled. Started at Matthew 1, stopped two finger scrolling down movements on Magic Trackpad after Acts 1 appeared in 50 seconds, then switched to Activity monitor to see 100 % CPU usage and watched Logos 4.5c Beta 1 continue scrolling (jumping over chapters) for over a minute before stopping:

This behavior continues in 4.5c Beta 3 (4.53.0.2109).

This issue is a combination of factors that point back to OS differences.
On Windows, the screen view scrolls line by line. On Mac, the scrolling is instead pixel by pixel, which allows scrolling to appear more smooth and fluid, but also generates a lot more mouse events to scroll the same number of pixels as on a Windows machine.
Another factor is the inertia scrolling on Mac. Unfortunately, these settings are 'all or nothing' and can't be turned off for certain views.0
