Ron, it looks like The Context of Scripture isn't licensed for use on mobile devices. This might explain your problem.

I almost added this to my other bug thread, but it seems to be a (slightly) different issue. The note for Gen 3:14 under "dust you shall eat" has a link to "The Descent of Ishtar" in "Context of Scripture" (COS 1). I own Context of Scripture. The link works fine in L4 on the desktop, but my iPad and iPhone show me the lock icon and when I click on the link I am told: "This resource cannot be opened because it is not part of your Logos library."

There are still bugs that have to be worked out of the app, as Bob said in another post under the FaithLife forum.

Andrew - Am I wrong to think that faithlife should not have links to resources which are not mobile enabled?

I wouldn't be pleased with that. But it should make a distinction between my not having a resource and my owning it without mobile access rights.

I don't feel strongly about it one way or the other. Certainly if they are going to include links to non-mobile enabled resources they need to indicated them as such. I guess my point is that (from my understanding at least), since faithlife is primarily designed for non-Logos users, to be primarily used on mobile devices, it would make sense for the links to be only those which are mobile enabled. It would similarly not make sense to have links to print books, as beneficial as those books might be. Perhaps Faithlife is a little bit more towards Logos users than I was made to believe?

I understood the "primarily ... non-Logos users" as the intent but not the "primarily ... mobile devices" as many people of my age still consider their laptop or tablet to be their mobile device[;)] But in a study group I would expect a few Logos users to be part of the mix, perhaps even the instigator.[:)]

If Faithlife is primarily for non-Logos users… where will they use it if not on their mobile device (iPad/iPhone or Andriod tablet/phone) on the Faithlife mobile app? I know that it CAN be used in L4, but it is intended to be used with the mobile app, right?

On the Faithlifestudy.com web site there is a link for a pc or mac version. I clicked on the PC version and it told me about an exe file for logos 4 that could be downloaded. That is as far as I proceeded with it. Maybe there might be a faithlife study bible exe coming in the future.

MJ - I just wanted to say again that I am not strongly against these links (and can make some arguments for them). You are right that Logos needs to do a better job of explaining this to the end user.
The last thing I will say, a little tongue in cheek… Giving non mobile enabled links to non-Logos users on a mobile platform is kind of like giving a sled to a kid on Christmas… in FLORIDA. [:P]

Yep. This will save users as well as Logos frustration (and helpdesk calls and the effort to credit users that bought the resource for a second time only to find it still doesn't work and get angry at Logos - the latter could be prevented if Logos.com had the same algorithm as Vyrso, not allowing duplicate buys).
