Fonts installed for/by Logos items
I realize that Logos items/products will install font families as each needs. But once installed, how can i know which among all my fonts are unique to MY pc (due to Logos) and which are not?
I want to make sure, or at least be reasonably so, that a font family i use in a document to others (likely to not have any Logos installed) will see the type as i sent it. And while of course, all the apps i have will muddy the waters, i would like at least to know about the Logos dirt.

if you are using word, you can get ti to embed the font into document so that this will show as intended on recipient machine wheter or not it is present on their machine.
in 2007 its "Word options"
> Save > Checkbox called "Embed Fonts"

Precisely to the point: It has been a very long time since I was functionally aware of this, all the way back to my Word Perfect days in the 90s. I have only very recently installed Word 2010 on our new PC so I have not had the chance to get into its options.
Thank you again! Your answer will do the end-product trick (provided of course that I remember to do my affected correspondence via Word *).
* I will go through the other MS Office apps to see if the option exists there as well -- this is not a hint for more input on Office options! 8^)gl

I don't think Logos 4 installs any fonts into the system. The fonts that come with Logos (the ones used as default fonts) are embedded in the application and are licensed only for use with the application, so you won't see them in the system fonts.

I'm not sure if I've read the posts correctly but Logos 4 does install fonts to Windows\Fonts. I delete those I don't need but every Logos update reinstalls them. I only need a Greek, Hebrew and transliteration font. Does anyone know how many fonts Logos installs and what they are needed for. I certainly don't need the several Syriac and Coptic fonts, or am I missing something?

Yes, after examining my fonts folder I see I was wrong.
Curious, though, why do you bother to delete them? Clutter in the font menu? Disk space?
You would need those fonts if you purchased a resource that required them, and if you didn't have them then you would see invalid characters in those resources.

Deleting unnecessary fonts: I tread cautiously, not pretending to be an expert but sometimes idiots see things the clever people don't. (When I raised this issue on a Windows 7 forum I was written off as an ****.)
This is a Windows 7 issue. In earlier Windows versions software listed fonts found in the Windows Fonts folder but in 7 (and Vista?) software should be reading available fonts from a registry entry. If a font is marked language specific or hidden in the Fonts folder, Win 7 compatible software should not list them.
However, I work mainly in WordPerfect X3 which predates Win 7 and it lists all the fonts which can make navigating a font change in a drop-down list a major expedition.
Logos 4 also seems not to be Win7 compatible in this regard as the font drop down list in the notes panel shows all the fonts, again making a font change a major exercise.
Logos 4 even shows "EUDC" as an available font in notes. This is a hidden file of user defined characters and should not show up as a standalone font.0 -

All very interesting; however, aside from the 'attach to Word' reminder, this leaves me where I was--unable to ID unusually used font families among those that W7 (Windows 7) shows me, which are yet likely to be on another's PC. (I suspect the Word doc does not install the font on the other's machine--not a PC (!) idea.)
