Vryso offline
I am dissapointed in how Vyrso continually crashed when opening offline. I was traveling recently and downloaded some books for use on my iPad for Vyrso. If I had online access everything worked well. However once I no longer had access such as on a plane, Vyros crashed upon opening and would not work again until I had online access again. The two books I had open when using the program were both downloaded. Colson's Good Life and the ESV.
Logos app on the other hand worked well. Please advise.

Hi John
A number of people have seen Vyrso crashing when offline - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/47839.aspx?PageIndex=1 for an example. I get the same thing here.
I don't think that I have seen any response to this from Logos as yet I'm afraid

Thanks Graham,
I saw the post, but was hoping that maybe there was a fix. I will just use the Logos app in the future when traveling. They do need to fix this issues however and if they need logs etc I will gladly provide them

I agree. Vryso is basically unusable when offline.
LOGOS TEAM - Can you please fix this?
Thanks!

Vyrso is still crashing everytime I open it when offline. It displays the Vyrso splash screen for 20 seconds or so, and then shuts down.
I have upgraded to the newest version on May 3.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Alabama,
Yes I have many ebook resources. Did others have to go thru delete and reinstall to get it to work offline?
It crashes no matter which book I'm open on.
Thx
Pete

No. It has never been broken for me.
It is my understanding that you are using the newest versions of both Logos & Vyrso apps, right? Both are 2.1.3? If this is correct, then they have the same "engine under the hood." I am not a programmer, so what I am about to tell you is a little speculation, but I believe it to be accurate. Since you are having problems with Vyrso and NOT Logos, I assume there is a glitch in the installation. If it were a glitch on your account or with the app engine, I would assume that Logos would crash as well.

You have many ebook resources downloaded, right? If you delete the Vyrso app, you would have to redownload these. If these are just your Vyrso books, a simple "download all" with a filter of edition:e would assist you in getting all of those.

Nope, uninstalled and reinstalled Vyrso, and redownloaded all my ebooks. Went into airplane mode, and Vyrso still crashes.

I don't know what to tell you. Since I have more free time on my hands than I would like, I would probably try a complete reinstall of the OS. I can tell you that I did this for my iPad when I had problems with a different app, and it fixed things.
The other variable in this picture is the downloaded resources themselves. Since your Logos app isn't crashing, did you try just downloading a single book to see what happens? Perhaps it is a specific resource which is crashing the app.

Alabama, Peter's problem sounds like the one I had with my vyrso app offline (now happily resolved tho I don't know how or why). I seem to remember there was a problem with ESV on vyrso, experienced by myself and others.

I had forgotten about that. [:S]

I'm amazed that you forgot after all the time you took trying to help me!

I basically gave up on the Vyrso app for now (because I use my iPad offline most of the time). I've downloaded the ebooks I need to my Logos app.
Thanks,
Peter

Vyrso has YET AGAIN refused to open offline. I went online, downloaded the grand sum of 2 books on both ipad and ipod, and now, to add insult to injury, it will open on neither. I don't even have that many books downloaded. So much for the updates that claim to fix these bugs. I know I can uninstall and reinstall the app, but I do have better things to do with my time. As may be clear from this post, my patience is running low....

I thought I'd solved the problem. Downloaded the new books I wanted, opened them, returned to library, left selection box empty, returned to reading mode in vyrso and then put iPad and ipod into aeroplane mode. It worked, for only a few hours on ipod. Then vyrso app froze. I went out of it, and again it refused to open. Killed it, but that didn't help. Fortunately vyrso app on ipad is working so far. I realise if I want to read books before I go online again, I need to have them downloaded into logos app. What a hassle! I'm very grateful for the free books, and it's true the vyrso app is free, for which I'm grateful. I'm also grateful that I can read vyrso books in logos app.I'd be still more grateful if vyrso worked for me!
