BUG: Panel syncing between NASB and Septuagint Interlinear
When I have the NASB95 open in the left panel and the Lexham
Greek-English Interlinear Septuagint open in the right panel, syncing
from the NASB to the Interlinear Septuagint appears to be OK. I am
looking at Psalm 86 which properly aligns with Psalm 85 in the
Septuagint.
If I have sync turned on and I swipe left or right in the
Interlinear panel to better align the verses, it incorrectly syncs the
NASB to Psalm 85 - correct number but incorrect Psalm.
I'm not sure if this is new or has already been reported. Repeatable by others?

Hi Bill
I'm not sure if this is new or has already been reported. Repeatable by others?
I don't remember seeing this reported before but I can reproduce it

Thanks for your confirmation... maybe it can be addressed soon?

I should note that Logos on the Mac syncs properly between the two resources... NASB to Septuagint and Septuagint back to NASB... appears to be an iPad/ iPhone issue.

orrect number but incorrect Psalm.
I too can reproduce this. I'll look into it.

Great! It's always good when developers can reproduce the problem... Much easier to track down and address.

I'm not a developer. I'm just a tech support rep, but I do try to help [:)]

The word is that the bug is known to us, and they are working on fixing the Lexham resource.

Alright everyone, it seems the LXX merges English Psalms 9-10 into Psalm 9. Eng Ps 10:1-18 == LXX Ps 9:22-39, then Eng Ps 11:1 == LXX Ps 10:1. (You can link the two panels together and scroll them verse-by-verse to see this.)
LXX also splits English Ps 147:1-20 into Ps 147:1-148:14, so the Psalm numbering lines up again at Ps 149.
The Desktop doesn't make this as noticeable because more text is visible on the screen at a time. So it is not a bug, it is just how LXXI is versified.[:)]0 -
Tommy, thank you for your continued looking into this, but I think you have missed the original problem (which you and several others were able to witness for yourselves).
I understand the chapter/ verse numbering is not one-to-one between the LXX and NASB, but Syncing panels, I thought, was supposed to correctly display text side-by-side, as much as possible. As I navigate the NASB panel, the LXX panel correctly displays the corresponding text, even thought the chapter/ verses are different. I consider this "correct" behavior. When navigating in the LXX panel, the program displays the same chapter/ verse in the NASB panel, which is not the corresponding text, thus what I consider "incorrect" behavior. At a minimum, the behavior is inconsistent.
Can anyone else explain this better?
Thanks, Bill

Again, I only observe this when Syncing panels on the iPad... Syncing panels/ windows on the desktop version appears to work correctly.
Tommy - if you have an iPad available, please try to duplicate the situation, and see if you think the behavior is correct. Put NASB in the left panel, LXX Interlinear in the right panel, make sure they are synced, and then navigate. For example, go to Psalm 86:1 in the NASB. LXX correctly goes to Psalm 85:1 and displays the corresponding text for the first few verses. I was interested in the Interlinear for verse 7, for example, which was visible in the left pane but not the right. I swiped the right pane to advance the LXX to the next few verses visible, but the software incorrectly "synced" the NASB pane to Psalm 85... Do you see how that does not seem to be correct behavior?

Redacted. Sorry I need to work on this more.

Bill,
This issue only occurs when either or both resources are downloaded locally. If they aren't downloaded everything works as expected, which is why some can reproduce the issue and others can't. Thanks for the report - I'll write up a case and send it to our Development team.

Tommy - I have NASB on the left, LXX Interlinear on the right... screen shot:
Note the text of Psalm 86:1 (NASB) aligns with Psalm 85:1 (LXX-Interlinear). Obviously only a few verses are visible.
I swipe NASB to the left and display the next few verses:
NASB advances as expected, and the LXX-Interlinear advances such that the text of the verses displayed match the text of the verses in the NASB. Since only a few verses are displayed, and I am interested in verse 11, I swipe the LXX-Interlinear to the left to advance to the next few verses. I get the next few verses, but unfortunately the NASB has moved to Psalm 85 (matching verse numbers), instead of staying where it was.
I think the sync going from NASB to LXX-Interlinear correctly handles the chapter verse mismatch, but the reverse is not true: LXX-Interlinear to NASB does not know about the mismatch and incorrectly syncs the NASB to the matching chapter and verse instead of the matching text.
In the interim, I suppose I can try to remember to turn off syncing between panels when advancing the LXX-Interlinear, but that does not mean this is not a bug in the software... agreed? Make sense?

Kevin - I did not see your reply until after posting my further clarification.
Indeed, I have both resources downloaded because I travel a lot and am often in areas without internet (my ministry is in remote areas of Latin America). I am currently in Mexico with spotty internet.
I look forward to resolving this issue... relatively small, but annoying nonetheless.
