Biblical Illustrator - 20 Books (some old some new)

I've made some changes to the old files and tried to group the books the same way they are grouped in the file description here:
http://archive.org/details/biblicalillustra02exel

I also had to make some corrections in the first 5 books I posted initially.  As I said before, I decided to redo all the Old Testament books I had finished.

My second post of 4 New Testament books was, I think better from the quality standpoint, but it had some issues as well (the Gospel of John was missing a good portion of the text, Matthew title page was messed up, references to Deuteronomy and Exodus were not in the correct format to be recognized by the PPB, etc).

Unless there is a major disaster in one of the books I am posting I will no longer make changes to the books.  I have not posted John this time around until I add the missing text.

So I am posting these books in the hope they are better than the ones I first posted.

Thanks to Michael Ballai we also have a nice picture for the book cover.

Here is the link for downloading the books:

    Good Evening All:

I have begun to apply Bible milestones and page #s to the new set of files. I'll be saving them as I complete them to the existing Dropbox folders (see below). I have deleted the old files, except for John.

The ones WITHOUT page #s will be in:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gjspyw267tj0jb8/PD5DFDDVZP

The ones WITH page #s will be in:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ue5q3ta4pnyzz0h/khqIAs7T0i

Enjoy and please let me know if you find errors. I will compile as I go, but it could be sometime before I read any particular volume.

I have a few done. If anyone pulled a non-John book prior to 11:30--11:45 EDT-US, please download again. I had originally checked for the "Deu" problem and didn't find any. But subsequently discovered a "De" problem (which needed to be "Deut", according to the Logos abbreviations). A gentleman with the first name of "De Witt" complicated the search and replace, so I did what his mama should've done and changed his name to DeWitt.

    Enjoy.

Thanks for the updated files! I downloaded the ones with Page Numbers, and for the new one, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, I got some warnings on the Bible Milestones. Did you get these?

warnings on the Bible Milestones. Did you get these?

Yeah, I see what the problem is: multiple references in the citation heading. I'll fix, but it'll probably later today. Also, after I posted them, I thought about Esther:  I fixed the abbreviation in the milestones, but didn't think to replace in the other references. I'll fix that also.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther

    Dominick:

I fixed all the warnings, except the consecutive reference of Esther 4:2, which an unavoidable part of the text. I also fixed the Esther abbreviation and ascertained that it did not affect any of the other files.

I'll continue to upload over the next day or so without posing here until they're all in.

Look in George's file and not Robert's for the updated file of John.  Robert will probably eventually add milestones and page numbers to all these new books. George also started a new thread with all the completed books, without milestones and page numbers.

I am a little confused so I just want to make sure - George's files (65) are the basic text converted into docx format. Robert's files (20) adds page numbers optionally, and bible milestones. Is that correct?

FYI, the Box site seems to really have a problem downloading a folder - some sort of problem with larger files and the zip program it uses. I am unable to download the folder, these have to be downloaded one at a time.

Good work Robert!  The only problem I see is that when there is a reference in the headings the next paragraph's title or the entire next paragraph is pulled into the heading itself.
    For example:
John 3:22-26. JESUS AND JOHN AND THEIR DISCIPLES got pulled into the heading.

    Same thing here:

John 7:17 OUR LORD ASSERTS--FIRST: THAT IF A MAN AS IN A RIGHT STATE OF MIND, HE WILL KNOW AND BELIEVE THE TRUTH. SECONDLY: THAT THOSE WHO ARE IN A WRONG STATE OF MIND REJECT THE TRUTH; I.E., THE CAUSE OF FAITH, OR THE REASON WHY A MAN BELIEVES, IS TO BE FOUND IN HIS RIGHT MORAL STATE, AND THAT THE CAUSE OF WRONG BELIEF AND INFIDELITY IS A WRONG MORAL STATE. THIS, REDUCED TO ONE PROPOSITION, IS THAT THE FAITH OF A MAN, SO FAR AS RELIGIOUS TRUTH IS CONCERNED, DEPENDS ON HIS MORAL STATE. PROOF THAT THIS IS TRUE

The newest books available with Bible milestones and page numbers are Eccles. & Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah & Lament. and Ezekiel.  The files with or without page numbers are in the wrong Dropbox for Ezekiel. (Someone had a long night. Thanks Robert for your labor.)  For those who would like to give credit where credit is due you could include something like this in the book description or text.  Preparations for use as  Logos eBooks done by George, Robert M. Warren and cover by Michael Ballai.  (Sorry I don't know George's last name, and he may rather remain anonymous, if not I would like to attribute credit.)

Don't care much about getting credit.  If any is due me, God will give it at the right time.  If no credit is due me, people's credit might just make me proud :-)

Something went wrong in the latest batch of files published by Robert (Eccl. to Ezekiel) and it might have something to do with mass replacements from De to Deut and from Est to Esth.  When  the mass replacements were made, the sentences containing these references were changed to heading 3 resulting in lots of errors like these:

    [Info] Converting C:\Users\xxxxx\Dropbox\PBB\Joseph Exell - BI - No Page Numbers\15_Joseph Exell - Biblical Illustrator - Isaiah - BMs - NoPage.docx
    [Info] Compiling

[Warning] TOC Entry length is 267. Truncating to 256.
[Warning] TOC Entry length is 269. Truncating to 256

For example, you can see this under Isa 30:15, 31:1, 32:8, and so on.  They can easily be spotted in the Word Navigation Pane because they all are formatted with Heading 3.  Not sure why Robert decided to change De to Deut and from Est to Esth since logos recognized De and EST as Bible references.

Robert might have added heading 3 format without realizing it.

Thanks everyone for your work and help.

I didn't realize the web page I was using as a reference for abbreviations was from L3 days; maybe recognized abbreviations have been expanded. The H3 was likely a vestige from the Find & Replace I did before. I'll review the files and fix where necessary.

Robert, play around with the end of line character.  I seem to remember running across this; it has the wrong kind of end-of-line at the end of the true heading. I think I fixed it manually, when I saw it, by placing the cursor before the first character of the line which DOES NOT belong in the heading, hit backspace key until it's part of the heading line, then pressing Enter to create a true end of line. I think that fixes it.

Thanks, I'll fiddle with it some.

I'm going to fix the immediate issues, like making headings with Deut and Esth., etc, then I think I'll tackle this issue. Once solved, I'm probably going to apply all that we've learned and re-do what's been done so far, so that we can have the most useful, clean docs we can.
