I guess this is not the next major beta release that tech support said we would be seeing the start of Sermon File of some form being added....
BUT.... ooooh we get something that will work for faithlife.com, can we please deliver the promised features to customers...
So much for what the customers desire and for user voice. Also please don't paste links to Bob's or any other Logos reps comments on Sermon File recently, we have various posts for over two years now with failed promises or excuses of some form for not delivering on promised features.
Logos 10 - OpenSuse Tumbleweed, Windows 11, Android 16 & Android 14
I would say the writing is pretty clearly etched on the wall not to expect anything significant for desktop versions of Logos other than necessary bug fixes and updates needed to support mobile and Faithlife; maybe Proclaim too, who knows.....

Well said, Frank.
A couple of questions on these release notes:
1) After this release is final, will there be any remaining resource types that will *not* have been ported to sync v2? If so, what are they?
2) When and where will the "word list" feature be documented? I never used it in v3, so I'm curious what capabilities it brings to the table.
Thanks,
Donnie

If this is true, says a lot about the integrity of Logos as a business. Considering for at least two years we've been strung along with promises of features, but hey we have Proclaim and faith life.... My biggest issue is for those who were misled by customer service and or technical support about promised features...

NOTE: I made a reply to Frank that wasn't the right response, and after talking with him by phone I've deleted that post (and, it appears, the replies to it -- sorry if your post got caught in that).
I hear the frustration about Sermon File, and we're working on it. I'm also clearing up confusion with the rep who incorrectly promised it in a specific release.
Restoring my original quesiton to Bob, as he did not address this --
Bob, how about something beyond what we have now in Personal Books, which sure seemed to be a release 1? We have to build personal books on each machine we use. We can't easily share them without sending source around, the "store" or whatever never came to be. The Personal Books pane is becoming totally unmanageable, many of us have 150 or more Personal Books; it's one of the remaining things that does not sync or even show up on the mobile devices that have been out for quite a while; you can't easily find what has or has not been compiled on one machine vs. another if you made a small change, there isn't any filtering, there are reported bugs that have not yet been addressed, there are quite a few requests for enhancements to the tagging in Personal books on these forums, ....the list goes on and on. Personal Books is functional, but it is a very unrefined implementation at this point.
Personal Books first release has been out almost a year. Is there anything we can look forward to, to improve the user experience? I don't think it was anyone's expectations, including Logos, that development would mostly stop once that release (4.3) came out.

It's on our list, but we have other priorities in front of it. Syncing built personal books means syncing user-created files (books) of arbitrary length. Our sync framework (and storage) was designed around content created inside our system. With PB, you can theoretically drop hundreds of megabytes of content into the system. This requires new infrastructure work to know when to upload a book (not every time you compile it, but often enough to catch important changes), and to make sure we have appropriate storage and management on the server side.
This is a solvable problem, but it's non-trivial, and we are putting some other things in front of it. We do plan to get back to it, though. I just can't say when yet.
