Are Vyrso children's books in full colour?
I see that http://vyrso.com/product/16096/my-favorite-bible-the-best-loved-stories-of-the-bibleis on special at the moment and it says that "The colorful illustrations will capture the imaginations of children ages 4-8" but the "See Inside" doesn't give any examples of this actually being a full colour book that will display on a tablet the same as the hardcover would. Does anyone know if this is well formatted and in colour?
Thanks!

Unless I am mistaken, this is my biggest gripe with Vyrso. I don't think there are ANY pictures. Another user complained about this previously.
If that's the case they definitely need to change the description because it says that "Each story is fully illustrated..." They also might as well stop selling it because this kind of book without pictures is not worth owning.

I have the Read and Share Bible and it has pictures in it. They are also visible on the preview.

Weird. I don't see any pictures when I preview it.

Are they in colour and well formatted? I'm not seeing any pictures in the preview either. Could you post a screen shot of your book?
Thanks!

+1
Ronald may be seeing the pictures because he owns the resource.

Screen shots would be very appreciated. [:)]

I found an illustrated book I wanted and bought it (Pilgrim's progress). It looks great. I think we should assume the books have pictures, and if they don't (or if they are poor reproductions) then we should contact support for a refund. The quality of the books probably depends on the publisher.

Thanks for the screen shot. I am glad to know this.

The Read and Share Bible does have pictures throughout the Bible (see picture below). If there are any books that do advertise illustrations, but don't seem to have them please make us aware of them on the forums! We would love to make changes to the descriptions or talk with the publishers about the provided ebooks. Thanks again for your questions, insights, and responses!

I'm not sure why I can see the pictures when I preview the book?

Brian, it would be really helpful if the "See inside" feature didn't exclude illustrations. Can that be changed?
(It seems they do show up if you already own the resource, but that's not going to help buyers decide.)

We'll look into it and see if that's a possibility. Thanks for the advice!

[Y]That would be great because then I could see what the book I originally asked about looks like as well.

I think I can confirm my hypothesis… [:)]
I just purchased "My Favorite Bible." Before I purchased it, the preview did NOT show pictures. When I checked again AFTER I purchased it, I was able to do so.

It's interesting that only after you own the resource can you see the pictures. I don't own My Favorite Bible and cannot see the pictures. Hopefully Logos gets this fixed.

I just checked My Favorite Bible on Amazon and I can see the pictures on the preview.

Brian, what about footnotes? Are Vyrso books supposed to have the footnotes linked, or are we supposed to have to go back and forth to the bottom to check them out?

<just in case you dont get a reply>
My guess is that the answer is the latter, unfortunately, since the process is largely automated.

The Vryso books with footnotes that I've read have had hover fn and also had them listed in a group at the bottom of the text. I think that as long as the automation works they will appear as hover/popup. I have however noticed an unfortunately large number of biblical references that the automation got wrong.

That's good news! Then maybe it's worth reporting the one I'm reading in that doesn't have any hover popups or clickable links. It's a freebie, so I can't very well complain, but going up and down, up and down isn't very user friendly...

Sorry for the delay in answering your question! As the other gentlemen noted, the footnotes should link. If they don't we would appreciate the report so we can refine our automated process.

The resource is Deeper into the Word: Reflections on 100 Words from the New Testament, and so far I haven't seen a single footnote that links. There are also some other issues:
- The notes are full of entries like "2.S picq" instead of "2. Spicq". Apart from one O I think all of them are S's. I believe I've reported all of them as typos. And there are similar issues on the copyright page as well, also reported.
- I keep narrowing the TOC, and the next time I open the resource the TOC is wide again. Not sure yet if this is a resource issue or an SR4 issue.
- Clicking an entry in the TOC usually opens to the empty space above the heading, instead of to the heading itself: (that seems like an excessive amount of empty space, btw)
I hope that was all. If I remember more I'll come back. [:)]
Partly off topic, but we had a discussion here some months ago about how to get from a source file with unlinked footnotes to a PB with linked footnotes, and I think the outcome was that no one knew of a way to do that other than manually, one note at the time. I'm certainly not asking you to reveal any company secrets if you've written your own code from the ground up, but if you happen to know of a program that can handle such conversions automatically, I'm sure there are quite a few people here that would be interested. Or maybe you could integrate your Vyrso footnoting code into the PB tool?[:D]

I have now confirmed that this is a regression in SR-4, not an issue with this particular resource: BUG: TOC's no longer remember chosen width.
