Faithlife Notes not in Logos 4
My Faithlife notes are not showing up in Logos 4, nor are the community notes. It is not even available in the visual filter. Any idea how to resolve this?

I'm not sure what "My Faithlife Notes" should be - postings on faithlife.com? If so: they are not intended to be shown in L4.
Regarding the Community Notes: which group did you assign them to?
Maybe it helps in solving this if you join group "Faithlife Beta", IIRC, this group has Community Notes in Gen 1. Can you see them?

Ok maybe I don't know what I'm doing (lack of documentation or good implementation) I put a note in Biblia, it doesn't even show up in Faithlife.com It was assigned to something in Biblia called "My Faithlife Notes"
This is probably the worst launch of a platform I have seen, there is very little help, and no one seems to know what is going on or the purpose of the site and FSB. Very confusing.

Hm. Inputting Community Notes on Biblia.com to "My Faithlife" (which is a default group that consists of all Faithlife users) and viewing these later on works. There are "My Faithlife" Community Notes e.g. in Gen 1:2 - however, using this feature AFAIK requires you to be part of the Faithlife.com community.
So: do you have an account at faithlife.com? Are you member of at least one group (take Faithlife Beta if you aren't) ?
Or maybe there was a glitch in the internet connection when you put the note in on biblia.com - did you hit "post"? Did biblia.com show the note?

Yes I am a member at faithlife.com, joined several groups. The problem is the notes don't even show up as a view option in L4. It's not even available.

I've seen you are a member of Liberty University group.
Since this is an open group, I just joined it to execute this test, so we can see whether the Community notes work - just post one and assign it to this group.
EDIT: and we may try the other way round. I've just posted a note to group Liberty University. You'll see it in the Community Notes tab on Faithlife.com, but you should find it as well on biblia.com and L4 (lookup Phil 4:4). Does it work?

OK I added the notes in the Liberty group so I will try that when I get home to my computer.
Do these have to be in the same version? They don't attach to refrences like in L4?

I can see it in Biblia.com as well as in Faithlife (am not on my Logos PC right now) and replied shortly.

No. I just looked up Steve's "My Faithlife" Community Note to Col 1:15 in NIV 2011.

My problem in L4 is they don't even show up as an option in the Visual Filter Menu to even be displayed. Anyways, I also prefer L4 notes for personal study, but I'm curious to see other people's notes as well, and also am starting a Bible study and the group will use (hopefully) Faith Life so I want to be able to see their ntoes and annotations.

David, I understand from the Community Notes, that you will be able to look at this again in L4 in several hours - let's see if it works then.
By the way, I think we all assume that you are using a recent stable or beta version of L4 (Community Notes have not been "ab ovo" part of Logos).

I am using logos build Logos Bible Software 4.5 SR-2 (4.50.0.1869) and below is a screen shot of when I try to get the faithlife notes. As you see they do not even appear as an option.

You are several releases behind. i think this is your problem. The newer releases have added FaithLife linking. There has been several major releases (4.5a, 4.5b, & 4.5c).

David - Although I am a Mac guy, I am going to go out on a limb and try to diagnose your issue... [;)]
Since your version of Logos is not up to date, the issue is more than likely one of two things: Either you have "use internet" turned off, OR you need features that come only with a later build. Try updating and see what happens.
EDIT: I see Steve got to you first. [:)]

David,
Community Notes came with 4.5b (see the Release Notes). It seems you need to update to see them in L4.

I have 4.5c and they don't show in mine either (the dropdown visual filters.
I thought maybe it was because I wasn't logged on, so I logged on and updated my library while I was at it.
But Community Notes still don't show in the Visual Filters menu.
My guess might be you have to have a notes file? (I don't have any 'files' in my Logos4; keep everything in L3).

No, since they are not kept in files, but on a server, probably in a database. You need to be member of a group in faithlife.com, and then this group needs to have Community Notes in the resource you are using. (Faithlife Beta group and the bible work to see)

Well, NB ... you illustrated the problem. As much as I read the forums etc, I missed one of the checkoffs ... I did have FB but not one of the groups. I agree the combinations are not easy to keep track of.
I made the same mistake on the 2 upcoming Faithlife events. One says 'free' and 1 says 'free to the first 1000'.
FB's really touchy.

Ok that explains that, now here is the better question. I have L4 set to automatically update, I wonder why it isn't doing that... How can I force L4 to update?

I am not sure, but you can manually do the same thing. Here is the link to the PC engine: Logos 4 PC Installer

Hmm, surely there is a command to update without having to reinstall, and re-index everything.

Alright, I'll give that a shot when I get home. I didn't even think to check version number since I had auto updates going. I just assumed it was working, well ya know what they say....

Well I have good news and bad news...
The good news is that the software is up to date and now showing faithlife notes, the bad news is that now there is a constant orange triangle over the sync icon indicating there is a problem. Any ideas?

[Y] Good! Glad it works now for you!

Internet unstable? It seems the connection was okay enough to download the update - maybe you "buy" a free Vyrso-book and see whether it comes through. Diagnostic Logging may help - you could as well call Logos support.

You may want to reboot windows and restart logos.
