Library Size

Many moons ago there was a thread on the size of peoples libraries. I am not savvy enough to find that old thread so I thought I would start a new one. I don't mean for this to cause coveting or pride, I just am interested in where my library stands in relation to others. Hope this is done with good spirit and motivation and not sinful.

As of today my library stands at 8,720 resources.

Size is not everything

Rather it is the quality of the books in your library.

Also what books do you use most, what are most useful books in your library?

What are the bargains /best value for money books in your library?

We should be good stewards of our money and choose wisely the books we buy and take advantage of special offers. The books should help us understand His Word and live a life that brings Him Glory.

Ultimately the whole point of a Logos library is to know God better rather than having knowledge of the Bible.

We want to meet the divine author of the book not just know facts about the book.

there are a couple hundred fiction books that I am slowly reading through and my mom is as well.......

I've got 3630. Basically Platinum plus a slew of academic/language resources. What I love about Logos is the way that resources are tagged, so that I often find myself consulting resources that I didn't know I even had! [:D]

7079 been using Logos since 1.x. in fact got rid of my stack of floppies a few years back, now I wish I had kept them for nostalgic reasons, kinda like I still have my Windows 1.x box and manuals, etc.

When I click on logos.com / my account / orders the spinning circle thing goes around 23 times before showing me my orders [does that tell me I have too many books, that I have a slow INTERNET or that I have a slow computer?]

Then i need to go down 13 pages before it tells me how much I have spent.

Observation: 23 times around is a bit less than 60 loops so wonder about slow internet (been using an older DSL for many years).

More fun is pressing page down for 8 pages of Vyrso orders, which total $ 17.42 and has 256 free Vyrso eBooks since Thanksgiving 2011.

Thankful for free Vyrso eBooks, which includes => Walking with Lincoln: Spiritual Strength from America's Favorite President and several eBooks with true stories, which are inspiring.

Searching free Perseus collections for prayer and fasting finds many entries.

P A, lol, you are correct, but that is too much work.

5161 WITH Perseus. I haven't read most of them. I have the heaviest normal use out of PG, Biblical encyc/dictionaries, and Webber's Christian Worship Library. Also consulting my Psychology reference works more for chaplaincy training. Would love more resources in that field across the spectrum (on Freud, Jung, Transactional Analysis, etc. Probably won't happen soon) Been using Vyrso a lot more, currently reading a Leonard Sweet/Viola book and one with Campolo/Claiborne. I must say, I sure can tell when I think Sweet is writing vs. Viola.

i guess "real stories" and "true stories" kind of tips their hand, eh? I remember these. I need to put Vyrso back into airplane mode to notice my more recent downloads. I think my teen would like reading some of those as well. Thanks for the reminder.
