What "Soon" means or at least approximately means would be helpful.

First off this is not a complaint thread.

I would just like an estimated for the approximate time frame for the activation of the minimal cross grade.

Are we talking any day, a week or two, a month or two?

I fall into the category of very excited (possibly anxious) to upgrade but can't even remotely afford to do the regular upgrade (in my case platinum L4 to platinum L5 is $643) even with the payment plan.

If I new it was more than a couple days I'd quit checking all the time.

Forgive me if its been already said but all I've found was "soon" and one guy saying a rep he talked to on the phone said after Christmas which in my book isn't "soon". I probably just need to be patient but I don't think it's uncalled for to ask.

The consolidated best guesses have been about two months. I would expect January. It could be sooner, but I would not assume later.

For Logos 4 users, it'll be on the lower end of those ranges. For Logos 3, it'll be a bit more expensive. For Logos 2 users, even more.

For Logos 5 Starter to Silver users who are just looking to pick up the missing features, it'll be significantly lower. Dynamic pricing will apply to both products, so the ownership discount will be applied as appropriate.

Phil said "a few core resources" meaning those that are required to make "all the features" work e.g. Lexham Hebrew Bible, Lexham Greek-English Interlinear:SBL are required for Clause Search (plus the Clause Search data set!). Other features of BWS require new Data Sets.

I know nothing is set in stone, but if I'm reading Phil's post correctly, the lowest cost will be around $150 for everything. I was hoping that "everything" for the crossgrade will be no more than $100. However, if the crossgrade includes resources and that increases the price, then I understand why it would be more.

What I am interested in is having access to all the new features and things that Logos 5 can do. I hope that won't cost me $300. I currently have L4 Platinum and can upgrade to Gold for about $380.

As I already stated, no final decisions have been made, but I wonder if I am misunderstanding Phil's post.

Personally, I love the idea of just having the core functionality without all the extra resources. I come to Logos for it's powerful word study and cross referencing (value-added tools), not all the bundled e-paperbacks.

That is very encouraging news. I'm happy to pay for the new features. I'm not one of the (very few, but vocal) who want it for nothing. What I don't want is to pay for a bunch of new resources I neither need nor want in an upgrade package just to get the new data sets. I would still spend that money on Logos resources, but it would be on resources I want. That makes for happier customers, in my never-owned-a-retail-business opinion.

I think it have to be more for those who have never upgraded to L4 Base Package or at least to the Minimal Crossgrade (even if they installed Logos 4 engine). They will actually buy both minimal crossgrades, Logos 4 and Logos 5 one. In Logos 5 case it have to include also some resources connected to the new features.

It is very fair and flexible from Logos IMHO. I really appreciate them for that approach.

Republicans , often being Bible-thumpers, are in a more "precarious" position than Democrats, who are perceived to be "godless". Judgment, and expectations, begin "in the house of God". Republican sins are different than Democrat sins, hypothetically, but they will receive equal, if not harsher, treatment. I have no use for either, myself. I look for the city whose builder and maker is YHWH. There will be neither democrats nor republicans in the kingdom. Same is true for Catholics, Protestants, Pentecostals, Evangelicals, Reformed, Arminian, Mormons, Adventists, Witnesses, and every other fill-in-the-blank "ism" that exists. It all is a violation of Deut. 4:2 & Deut. 12:32.
