Ribbon too big! Take up too much redundent space!

A suggection: On the left ribbon, I don't need to constantly have the icon picture of the books front cover on my screen. I have 3 "Reading Plans" and the Cover page of the books take up alot of unnecessary space.
- Actually I'd like to be able to minimize, on command, the whole ribbon when I need to. Then
- Put the "Enter passage or topic - GO" box in the skinny ribbon on top.
I have 3 "Reading Plans" on the go. But when doing other studying, I don't need to see them. And I know I can take them out of the view, and look for them through "Customize", but your "Logos Bible Software" title and "Enter passage or topic - GO" box still dictates the width of the ribbon. So I stil don't get anymore REAL Estate.
I would rather have ALL the Screen Real Estate possible. Like in MS Office one can minimze/shrink the ribbon.
This suggestion will cost ya

What can I say? I can do without the icon images in the library too, but some really seem to need them (or at least really want them). Each to his own taste, I suppose.

Hi Rusty
There was a similar request at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/58841.aspx - don't know what Logos thinks about it

I would also appreciate the ability to minimize the ribbon.

I would like to have the ability to no show the book covers and just have the vanilla ice version showing just the relevant information. I don't need to see multiple ESV, NIV or whatever may be your fancy, book covers repeated on the ribbon.

I have no objection to the covers in the ribbon, but I eliminate them in the library. What real purpose do they serve? You might ask "What purpose do they serve in the ribbon?" Well, they do draw your attention to the book title. For that though you could almost have a generic, one size fits all, image.

I know my memories short, but after seening the cover 3 times, I probably remember what it looks like. [:^)]
But the point is, like in MS Office, let me make the decission, more real estate for workin on, or be distracted by BIG icons. [8-|]

If we need abook cover to draw attention to our bible we are in trouble. Don't have issue with cover showing for highlight books in my library, just for reading plans which the vast majority are bible reading plans and the covers are redundant.

I'm previewing office 2013 and love the control it gives in this area. Totally agree Logos is lagging in this area.

To each his own, but how much time do you spend on the home page anyway? The left ribbon isn't taking away from resources and such since it goes away as soon as you start working. I'm not sure why the home page would need any work and was a little surprised Logos moved the ribbon to the left - simply because this meant a little more work on a part of the program that by nature gets very little use.

I think that they moved it to the side to take advantage in the general change of aspect ratio of computer monitors… which are growing wider. Personally, I would REALLY like the homepage and would use it regularly if it were 1) faster to load and 2) much more customizable.
