Making PB covers
I have numerous PBs for which I cannot find covers or author pictures. A number of covers (for other books) on Google seem home-made (in a good way...not in a tacky way). Have any of you found good free cover making software? Other methods for making dummy book covers?
Thanks.

Any basic image editing software should work. You probably already have one on your computer. I can't remember if you're a Windows or Mac users, but Windows Paint would do the trick if the former.
The most basic homemade image covers I've seen look like this, couple of bars of color on top and bottom and the title in a nice large font centered in the middle:
Any image editing software will have a Text tool, so you can insert the text.
And it doesn't really matter too much what size rectangle you use for the cover, but this one is 160 pixels wide by 240 pixels high. It doesn't need to be very high resolution.

Something else I just found: you could use Cover Creator, by CreateSpace (an Amazon.com company). It's a free online tool for creating book and CD and DVD covers. You have to create an account to use it.

Probably too obvious a question, but did you check Amazon to see whether they have an image? I've gotten some from there.

Rosie:
Thanks. My wife just spent time teaching me Photoshop Elements 9 which is on my computer but I don't use (but she uses every day) to do exactly what you said. I do have an account with CreateSpace but have never used it to create covers. Good idea. Thanks.
