Faithlife Study Bible authorship and subjectiveness

I have never heard of the Faithlife study bible prior to Logos version 5. Is the authorship the common community or Logos. It is important that the authorship has credentials and God's blessing to contribute to such a work. If the authorship is the common community, this is like having a bible study and asking all the members what they think of a particular passage. (I am hoping that I am wrong about this) I want an interpretation in line with the word, not a subjective interpretation based upon what the word feels is important at the moment.

I have not seen any other critical messages like these and am interestedin seeing some other responses. Please forgive me if I am a bit ignorant of this authorship issue as I am seeking to find out more.

Greetings and welcome to the forum! The Faithlife Study Bible is a publication of Logos and not a community driven Bible (although they do appreciate feedback!). I have found it to be mostly mainline Protestant Evangelical although some have mentioned it may have a bias towards Calvinism. That may or may not influence your desire to use it. I think it's a fairly solid study Bible for those who have little to no training in academic resources or Logos search tools or who have limited funds to buy some of the more expensive tools but still want sinpits of information.

Thank you for your feedback. I feel much better about the resource. It sounds like it may have a very useful spot providing a good study bible at a lower cost. I was afraid that we had a wikipedia study bible and am glad to hear that that is not the case.

Zachary, I'm glad your fears have been laid to rest. I assume the thread linked to above led you to the FSB contributors page, but if not, the link is here: http://faithlifebible.com/contributors.

Our contributors have, at the very least, master's level degrees in biblical studies. Most have doctorates or are in the process of completing a doctorate (I'm in the latter category).

We also made sure the notes were reviewed by others (who also had appropriate credentials) and we actively solicit feedback from users who have brought our attention to areas where we can clarify or expand the notes.
