Can I use my MacBook as a "remote"?

I'd like to use my macbook as a remote from my teaching location, to control the desktop presentation computer that feeds the projection equipment. I have been using iphone, but by evening sessions, battery life is sketchy and the laptop would make a more dependable remote for me.

Is this possible, and how would I proceed to make it work?

You can't do this using the Proclaim software.

However, there are remote control utilities available for Mac (and Windows) which would allow you to remotely access your presentation computer and control it through that way.

I don't know which work best in the Mac environment so won't provide any recommendation!
