Spra?

Anyone know what the bolded bit in parenthesis below means? TWOT is riddled with typos, so I often can't tell if something is new to me or just a mistake. It sounds like it could be some Latin term like sic, ibidem, or et cetera, but I'm not sure.

1088 לָוָה (lāwâ) II, borrow (Qal), lend (Hiphil).
This may be a specialized usage of lāwâ (spra). In contrast to the purely economic significance of borrowing and lending in modern life, these acts were endowed with a special theological significance in the ot.

Unless there is a Latin abbreviation thus, it isn't Latin. I was hoping to find a section detailing abbreviations used in the book, but had no luck there. I'm at a loss.

Let me take a shot at it. I think is may be a typo and should read supra.

Supra is an adverb meaning above, especially when used in referring to parts of a text. See http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/supra?s=t

I have no clue of Hebrew, but I think you may be right.

But I think the book then is saying: "lawa in the sense of to borrow/to lend of this entry (i.e. TWOT #1088) may be a specialized usage of lawa in the broader sense (see above, i.e. TWOT #1087 for lawa in the sense of to join/to be joined)"

Yes, I agree as well. Funny, when I looked up "spra" on the internet, I got supra back in some of my results, but I was so focused on finding spra I didn't think about it as a solution. I should have... [:(] I usually don't miss stuff like that. Thanks for the help.

When I looked for "spra," I found something about a particular monetary practice in Canada called Special Purchase and Resale Agreement. It was close enough to borrowing/lending that I spent some time looking into it… but it must be just a coincidence. [:)]
