Update on progress and direction of Android App Requested
The last time I think we heard anything about this is just before notes came out and were talked about by Bob. Is it possible to get an update on what the developers are working on or what me might be able to expect and see (besides parity with iOS) in the future. For me, one of the larger source of frustration was lack of communication. I know timelines are out of the question, but I would like to know what major improvements are coming to the Android app.

I would like to know specifically when my personal books will be seeable on the Android application. Also I would like to know how to get "BIBLE" type ebooks to behave like bibles. (I have produced the SKJV Bible www.truthiswhatmatters.com look under freebies for a sample.)

Hi Ray - and welcome to the forums

The most recent I have seen from Logos on this is at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/66838/466886.aspx#466886 where they basically say they are working on it and will make it available when it is done.
I would be surprised if we get anything more definitive than that until it is available (at least in beta format)

Can you expand on what you mean by this? What are you hoping for, what are you seeing?

We are actively working on the following:- A new rich text toolbar for creating/editing note content
- FSB app support for alternative study notes (just shipped in latest 2.3.10 beta)
- A large feature that you will hear more about soon
Some of the higher priority parity features we hope to address soon are:
- Support for guides/reading plans/etc in split read panes
- Improved note document support (creating new note documents, etc)
- Improved reading plan support
- Two finger read view scrolling

Thanks for giving us a glimpse at the roadmap going forward. It means a lot to have something to look forward to. Thanks for all the great work on this app.

One big favor Gabe - don't bring to Logos for Android the indexing function currently deployed as part of the iOS app.

I use a Danish Bible on my deskotop and android app. But on the android app, the Danish Bible is loading very slow. I'd say, it shows the passage from last time, and then the circle goes round and round in the centre, until it has finished loading, but say I am reading out loud for a group, and I then slide for the next page, it just goes blank, and after a while of watching the circle again, I finally get some Bible text - but then maybe halv a minute passed by,
Some loading is acceptable, but the amount of loading that I experience using the Danish Bible on my SGS3, seems to me that something is not right.
Is this something you are aware of?
Greetings, Robert

One feature I really miss on the Android App is the 'Layouts' feature. Would this slow it down too much? Is there a work-around? I use the slider bar on the right to basically toggle between two different books, and can also use the 'Mobile Favourites' to quickly go to other things I might be working on. Is there anything else I have been missing, or could a layout feature (specific to the Android - i.e. not trying to match the L5 set-up for a big screen) be added to the Android App?

We also work on improving app performance and stability with each app release as well.
It's been just about two months since this posting and frankly, I haven't seen much improvement in the Android App. Again, I would appreciate some more communication from Logos on this. To be told "soon" and then hear nothing further, is frustrating. If something delayed an announcement or what not, it would be good just to hear this.
Again, Y'all do good work, and we would all love parity with other apps, but not hearing anything for extended periods is more harmful than not.

There's plenty of communication, but it's in the beta forum. The "large feature" is most likely an audio Bible which was announced a month after Gabe's post. I presume that this should open up the possibility of other audio resources in the future. The new beta also includes a significant update to notes, again as promised.
