OK, I get this message in my log file:
Warn ResourceManager Resource of type SyntaxDatabase could not be found at location C:\Logos4\Data\ane5f4bl.aih\ResourceManager\Resources\LexhamSGGNT.lbssyn with ID DB:SYNTAX-LEXHAMSGGNT and version 2009-10-06T03:08:43
All the syntax related files on my computer are date-stamped the 7th October not the 6th:

Try deleting ResourceManager.db?

All right, I'll give that a go. I actually deleted all the files, they downloaded and still nothing. So, anything's worth a go...

Still no happiness.
The log file still shows a search for resources with a different datestamp to the ones in my folder:

I had just downloaded all of these after deleting them from the resource folder..... This truly makes no sense...

I'm running out of ideas [:S]
FWIW, I don't think the
datestamp thing is an issue; the version stamps listed above are
metadata stored about the book, ie ? a datestamp applied by a book builder program when the last edit to the book was made; whereas the date modified is a filesystem datestamp, when the final published file was made. For comparison, I note that the date-modified file system stamp on all my .logos4 books is a days or two after the version stamp in the book's metadata.

Thanks anyway Jon.
As I wrote elsewhere, deleting resourcemanager caused v4 to rescan my v3 directory and import older files overwriting newer ones. When the program began, it then stated downloading the newer files again. There is something very wrong with this process.
As to my initial problem, I am absolutely stumped. The files are there. If I delete them then the program downloads them but then it does not recognise them...

Hi Damian, I have found this: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/2733/20517.aspx#20517
I was told:
-----------------
This issue only affects people who were in the private beta and received a resource called Lexham Syntax Graphs of the Greek New Testament, which
was renamed to Cascadia something or other.Attempts to open the old version fail, disabling the panel. In fact, if they know how, it should probably be removed from their machines. This shouldn't affect anyone else and most of the heavy Syntax users encountered this bug during the betas and managed to work around it.
-----------------
I believe the resource is called: LEXHAMSGGNT -- the new one is named LexhamSGNTGraph
Let me know how it goes.

George,
It's a shame that this was not answered in a timely manner. It would have saved me the massive problems I had with my redownload and install (which simply highlights how truly awful is the install procedure for Logos v4 - http://community.logos.com/forums/p/5836/45367.aspx)
Considering the presence of all these power synatx users on this forum it is strange that no one was able to help myself or the user on this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/5862/45427
This is a BUG (as noted in the thread to which you pointed). It should have been squashed sometime between October 22nd and today.
Naturally, a bug tracker would have assisted me to determine the problem and seek a reasonable solution rather than a reinstall (resulting in me going over my download data cap for the month).

Damian,
I noted you had exactly the same Syntax resources as myself and I was not surprised by the message about a missing Syntax db. But your original message was very general ("I went to do something in Syntax"), leading me to believe it was a general fault with B1 which I had just installed. Each time I accessed an LEXHAMSGGNT query in the SR versions Logos4 crashed!
Timing and circumstances kept me from making the connection!

Dave

That's alright Dave. I don't really believe that the forums ought be the place to deal with critical bugs, but there currently doesn't seem to be any other means.
Nor do I believe that it is up to users to deal with this.
If this was in fact a problem due to something introduced in the Beta, every Beta tester ought have been asked to delete that particular resource. This would have been a very easy way to deal with the problem.... it would have saved me hours of stress....
As to the general nature of my original problem - all I did was click on search - syntax and the image above resulted. There was simply no more information to give...

Damian / everyone else --

LexhamSGNTGraph: This is the clause visualizer resource for the in-progress Lexham SGNT (editors are Lukaszewski, Dubis and Blakley). This is one of the reasons we changed the name; you can see the confusion.
CSGNT: Cascadia Syntax Graphs of the New Testament, which is what was formerly (during a portion of the beta period) named Lexham Syntax Graphs of the Greek New Testament (LEXHAMSGGNT). There are two Cascadia resources, CSGNT.lbssyn (the syntax database) and CSGNT.lbxclv (the clause visualizer resource).

And what PRECISELY am I supposed to do?
I see lots of explanations but little which says, "Damian please delete file xxx.xxx from your resources file" or whatever the solution is to the problem which has reoccurred.0 -
ie. how do we deal with LexhamSGGNT.lbssyn and LexhamSGGNT.lbxclv?

Erase them both, L4 will download the new ones.

Damian,
I deleted LexhamSGGNT.lbssyn and LexhamSGGNT.lbxclv together with LexSGGlossary.logos4 from the L4 resource folder. I had to force a download with Update Resources (about 21 MB). This updated without indexing and I was 2 resources down (as intended).

Is it necessary to delete LexSGGlossary.logos4?
This would truly have to be the least helpful thread (with the exception of your responses Dave) to deal with a serious bug in the program....
My frustration level with it all is very high - I can't believe that the last response was not even addressed to me...

Yes. It is part of the obsolete SGGNT data. Although you get a download it seems to be for the Cascadia stuff which already has a Glossary (or give you a Cascadia Glossary if you don't have it!?). It's confusing, but you lose 2 resources you don't need + the SGGNT syntax database (.lbssyn).
