The question brings up the whole issue of price matching: I know when we are speaking of reference works the Logos edition requires more links and almost certainly costs more than the same book in a lesser platform. However, a book like I am a Church Member could not cost more for Logos to produce than Amazon. I am also aware of loss leaders employed by Amazon, but it appears to me that Logos cold compete in these instances if they chose to do so.

Many times these sales are offered through the publisher, and if the publisher extends the offer to Vyrso, we are able to get the book at that price. NOTE: This is true for Vyrso resources, but not for Logos ones. Amazon does do lost leaders, and Vyrso can't match those.

are you saying that Vyrso books are under different publisher contracts than Logos books?

Yes. Plus Vyrso resources are automatically converted, whereas Logos ones require labor.

There are currently three "edition" types of resources:
- Logos - full featured, "valued added" resources
- e-book (aka Vyrso) - modified ePubs into the logos format
- user created (aka personal books)
Vyrso resources are created using an automated process from the publisher's ePub files. The quality is similar to that of Kindle resources. During the conversion process, scripture links are auto created. For most resources this works very well. There are some, however, that are epically bad. Those resources were perhaps better suited as Logos editions.
Vyrso resources can also be searched through in your library… they just aren't manually tagged. Typically there are no page numbers, devotionals don't work as such, etc. I would still much rather have a resource in Logos as a Vyrso edition than to purchase a Kindle edition or to make a personal book.

I did not know the difference. I thought Vyrso was more of a different marketing avenue instead of actually being a different product. That is very interesting to know.

A clarification: They do have some of the functionality that regular Logos books have, but only the stuff that happens automatically:
1. Scripture references are linked to your preferred Bible.
2. Searches through your entire library will include hits in Vyrso resources.
3. The Table of Contents panel works if the book has chapter headings.
4. Footnotes in the text that were treated as footnotes in the original book (as opposed to endnotes) pop up when you click on the reference number.
