I am considering buying a Tablet on which I hope to use Logos. ON which Tablet would I get the most out of Logos?

One idea is a tablet running Windows 7 or 8.  Dell Latitude ST can run Logos 5, but the 1.5 GHz Atom processor is noticeably slow.

Caveat: Windows 8 RT can only run a mobile app, which is less capable than the Android mobile app.

    Internet search for:

    site:community.logos.com logos android tablet

found many threads, including => Logos on Tablets => Anyone using an Intel Atom Z2760 powered tablet with Windows 8 and Logos 5? => Best Android Tablet? => Do you like Logos 5.0 on Your Surface Pro? => iPad or Android?

    Keep Smiling [:)]

Wait a few months along with the rest of us....faster, better, and hopefully with more battery soon on the horizon from all I read.

The "easy bake" low volume MS Surface Pro is lousy and anything atom based is too slow.

Leading tablets today are going to the Apple iPad, Amazon Kindle Fire, and the Nook from Barnes and Noble, in that general order.

The iPad and Kindle Fire are both available in 7 and 10" models, with wifi and 3g options at various price points. The Amazon line does run less expensive than Apple's offerings for varied reasons. Personally, I have a 1st generation Amazon Kindle Fire and am very pleased with how it handles Logos resources. Although, I have noticed how a 10" tablet would be better for couch based study. [:)]

I was going to suggest this special Windows 8 tablet but its atom based and probably not powerful enough.

Guess we need to continue to wait.

I agree with you Joshua. I would wait for the second generation Microsoft surface pro. I hope they will improve the battery life and its wait as well.

    Blessings in Christ.

... and with Windows 8.1 coming out later this year, the operation of the Win8 PCs is going to improve.

Tes, I wish I was was obsessed with my Bible and Jesus as I am with cheap decent technology to use Logos on.  Lets review:

    • Surface is too expensive
    • Surface can heat up like a hot brick
    • Surface has no limited volume (as in practically none)
    • ....did I mention its too expensive too!

I can't make any official Logos recommendations but we use the Nexus 10 internally and it's nearly twice as fast as the fastest Kindle or Nook devices.  You are also not limited to the Amazon or B&N stores (although the latter now supports the Google Play store).

I have a totally different criteria than speed.  I have an original iPad and a Toshiba Thrive.  I like to read from my tablets while they are "sideways" or in "landscape" mode.  This allows me to position a Bible in one pane and my reading material in the other.  Following Biblical references is quite fast and doesn't affect my reading pane.

The Thrive is slightly wider than the iPad.  There is just enough extra width to allow two columns for my reading material and one column for my Bible quite comfortably.  On the iPad I leave the reading material in a single column.

I had a 7 inch Pandigital and didn't even bother to install Logos due to the small reading area.  The mini iPad is not appealing to me.

I purchased a Nexus 10 a couple of months back and have not regretted it once. Logos runs well on the platform, and the screen resolution is fantastic!

L5 on Lenovo Thinkpad, i5, windows 7 pro | Logos App on Samsung Galaxy S3 | Logos App on tablet soon

Jonathan, I find Android version buries common things like Search.  I long to abandon my Nexus 7...sell it even and get a fuller Windows Pro version on a better Windows Tablet (something under $600 that doesn't overheat like Surface Pro and has more battery power than Surface Pro).

It looks like a few months has passed since this post.  Does anyone have any current recommendations?  I hate to settle for an android version that can have open multiple (more than 2) resources, with info, etc.  But the current windows options either look too expensive, have poor battery life, etc.

    Any new recommendations?

Nexus 7 or it seems like Nexus 10 is good. I have the Nexus 7. Great for reading, great for travel. Does the job.

    Hey Kevin, or others,

Do you know if the Nexus 10 supports smooth scrolling?

Logos on the Nexus 10 doesn't support smooth scrolling.  However, if we add smooth scrolling support to Logos it should work on all supported devices.

LaRosa, thats great, but the android application doesnt have full functionality like the Windows version.  I find using it with the buried searches very challenging.
