When Logos adds new and updates existing books, does the Home Screen automatically split up displaying which books are new and which books are updated? Or does it lump them altogether in one list?
Thanks!
The "Updated Resources" Home Page content doesn't distinguish new resources from updated ones.
It is a small issue, but I wished it did sometimes particularly if the list is really long. I can take the time to figure it out, but segmenting the list would help the user not miss anything.
I can take the time to figure it out,
Yes - if you rate all your resources then rating:0 will pick up the new ones.
Have you actually taken time to rate all your resources Dave? That sounds like as much work as tagging. I know the benefit of tagging but I'm not sure of the benefit or rating. How do you practically use it? How do you rate resources that you have not used much or at all?

I rate all my new resources 2 stars by default once I get them. That way I can use Dave's method to find stuff I haven't looked at yet.
I use the rating method Rosie describes here:

Ratings are good for making collections or filtering the library. They are not used to prioritize search results (many of us wish they did affect search result rankings).
True, nice suggestion - I guess I need to work on using ratings. I'm still developing my tagging system and on my Christmas wish list is that Logos will develop better management tools for tagging! That being said, I do need to push into rating more than I have to date.

Thanks for sharing Todd. I have rated a number of resources but I am going to seriously consider using this feature more.
I thought it didn't. Would be nice to see added in an update. The tagging suggestions are good too.
Most of the time, I can check against a prepub or purchase invoice for new books, but every once in the while Logos will throw in new books down the road that weren't available at the time I purchased my base collection upgrade (although I own the unlock for them) or additional books coming to to a prepub that weren't ready on the shipping date. It'd be handy at those times to be alerted of the new books I'm receiving.

I rate resources 1 star by default. Then I rate ones I care about for inclusion in collections. I use Tags as well but only need 10 e.g. I tag commentaries as Notes if they don't make the grade and consider them with type:Notes.
I rate them after I've tagged them. I use rating:0 to find the ones I haven't tagged yet. Although lately that doesn't work if it's a resource that already has a community rating. Using myrating:0 works in those cases.

Good pickup, Pam. If you use community ratings then myrating:0 is best.
I have all of my new acquisitions go into a "0 Star" collection by default. I, usually once a week, go through my "0 Star" collection and tag, rate and place in appropriate collections (if they haven't already been placed by the dynamic rules). This process might take as little as a few minutes or rarely it might take an hour (depending on how many new resources I have) to tag, rate and place in a collection. It has worked for me for as long as Logos has allowed us to rate our resources and until something better comes along, I will continue to do it this way. It works for me, however, others might find it "uncomfortable" to have new resources just laying around untagged, etc., for a week or two. [;)]
Hmm. Based on how some use the rating system, if enough Logosaholics - I mean customers - rate the resources arbitrarily by default, would not this skew the average community ratings that are shown?
I think Logos should address the need to show updated resources versus new purchases - perhaps using a different color or bold texts?
Maybe I don't understand how community ratings are calculated...?

It probably means you shouldn't trust a rating lower than 3 for monographs!
(type:monograph is the most prevalent in one's library and easily ignored if one concentrates on rating other types for study).
