Updating vyrso books to Logos format
Over the pas few months some books that were in vyrso have become Logos books. like:
http://www.logos.com/product/28584/francis-chan-collection
http://www.logos.com/product/30214/warren-w-wiersbe-collection from this one at leat the book: "the bumps are what you climb on"
in Other posts it has been said (at least thats what I remember) that these books would automatically update to Logos books if you owned the Vyrso format. Now I do not consider this a right, rather a privilege. Nevertheless I would love this to happen, but if I am correct it hasn't happened to me.
someone knows what will happen or when they will update?

Johannes,
Logos and Vyrso books can be used in either software program so are compatible. The greatest difference between them is the level of tagging. Logos books are more heavily tagged and Vyrso books have relatively few tags outside of Bible references.
If you have Vyrso loaded, any Logos book you have should be visible as long as you log in with the account under which you purchased them. If you have Logos installed, all Vyrso books you own should be available as long as you are logged in under the account you purchased the resources under.
There might be a time Logos moves a resource from Vyrso to Logos by improving the tagging. In that case the updated resource would be yours at no extra cost.

No. His question is rooted in your comment here:

The resources have been switched to Logos editions, but the new Logos editions have not been added to our accounts.

Much clearer on a second reading with your help.
I don't have the Chan collection, just the three main monographs, which I purchased through Vyrso in April (actually they were free.) Likewise I have the Wiersbe volume which I purchased through Vyrso in April as well. All are still in ebook format.

This is the case with me too, for The Peacemaker by Ken Sande, which I bought when it was a Vyrso ebook. I've told my sales rep about it and he said if it didn't download as a Logos edition for me he'd find out why. It still hasn't, and I still haven't heard back from him.
Maybe in my case it's because The Peacemaker is part of a collection and is not yet available in Logos.com as a standalone product, so maybe they can't unlock it for me individually. For this book it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me, since there aren't a lot of elements in it that would be improved by tagging. But I think the look of a Logos edition book is a bit more crisp and professional. And if they've promised to give me something for free, I would hope they'd eventually keep their word, even if the have to be reminded to follow through on it.

Perhaps… but I own both resources in the "collection." I'm not particularly worried about it.

Interesting, too, is the fact that if I add the Chan collection to my cart the price doesn't change even though I own 3 of the 6 books. Now as I acknowledged, those three were free so that may be the reason there is no dynamic pricing in my case. Or perhaps it really is dynamic pricing. [:$]
I am content in these four resources to have a Vyrso edition.

I've just sent an email about this problem to the relevant (internal) parties. I'll let you know when I have an answer.

I am also perfectly content reading the Vyrso editions of the mentioned books BUT if there are typos you're wasting your time submitting a report on the Vyrso edition which isn't cool. For that reason, among others, it would be nice if Logos quickly migrated people to the full Logos versions.

The biggest problem I see once we do migrate... knowing about and hiding the Vyrso editions.
If they do it right, the filenames will be the same, and the Logos edition will simply replace the Vyrso edition so we won't have any duplicates.

I don't think that will be the case. First of all, if they did keep the same file name, shouldn't we have received the update already automatically? Also, if significant changes occur, there is the potential for craziness with highlights & notes… so I don't think it will be the same file name. But I could be wrong. I have been known to be wrong before. [:)]

You?! Never! [:O]
I could be wrong. Your reasoning is persuasive.

When a Vyrso ebook becomes available as a Logos resource, customers who own the Vyrso edition will receive the Logos edition at no cost. Thanks for mentioning the Francis Chan Collection; we’ll make sure that customers get their Logos edition. The Warren Wiersbe Collection has not shipped yet, therefore customers don’t have the Logos edition. Since we’re not currently using the same Vyrso filename to produce the Logos edition of a resource, customers will need to call Customer Service if they want dynamic pricing applied to their pre-order.

Jani, I was told this about The Peacemaker by Ken Sande, which I owned already a a Vyrso edition. It recently shipped as a Logos edition, and I have not yet received the upgraded edition.

An unlock request has been sent for The Peacemaker (and other Vyrso/Logos resources we overlooked). You should get it by the end of the week.

Hi Jani.
I, as others, have received the updated Logos versions of some of the Francis Chan books - thanks for that.
It appears, that this results in the tagging and rating which I had applied to the Vyrso editions disappearing and not being applied to the Logos ones.
Is this correct?
If so, and I understand why it would be, is there any way to notify people before these updates are made available as I don't really want to lose tagging information.
Thanks, Graham

Yes. It is as if they were two completely different books. As far as the software is concerned, they are.

except that the original (Vyrso) one is removed and so I can't even see what the tags on that were to apply to the new (Logos) one
I understand - I think - the mechanism just not sure how to manage the implications.

See my post here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/72450/504755.aspx#504755, which shows you how to access your old tagging, and how the process works.

I think you mean, "You Lost Me," as a part of this collection: http://www.logos.com/product/31504/rethinking-christianity-collection

Since we are the topic of overlooked resources, I'm just wondering if the original Vyrso edition of "The Facade" (no longer available for sale on Vyrso.com) gets a free update to "The Facade - Special Edition" (Vyrso.com).
