Help, please - can't find apk for Kindle Fire HD
I'm trying to install Logos on a new Kindle Fire HD 7". When I called support, I was told that it does work, though Amazon is still flagging it as not working on this device, therefore won't allow an installation. I was advised to look in the forum for directions for downloading and then sideloading.
Reviewing the forum, this issue with Amazon dates back a couple of years and apparently hasn't been fixed yet.
I tried to follow the directions from 2011 for downloading (to sideload) from http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Logos/beta/Logos-23.apk but that link no longer works.
Please, can someone with current experience with this new Kindle Fire HD tell me how to install?
Thanks

Admittedly it was an update, but I had no trouble downloading and installing from Logos to a Kindle Fire. Is the issue HD related?

Pam,
welcome to the Logos user forum!
I do hope this is no HD problem (I have only the non-HD Fire). It looks like your link is an older beta which has been superseded. In this post http://community.logos.com/forums/t/75177.aspx you'll find links to the latest beta releases for all android apps.
- You need to allow the Fire to install apps outside of the Amazon system (Settings / Device / Allow Installation of Applications: ON)
- You need to access the apks from your device browser, not your PC for seamless install
Please tell if it works

I'm apparently having some other kind of problem - I get "access denied" when I go to the address given in that post, the one for downloading Bible to android. <sigh> I'm out of ideas and out of time this morning.....need to pick up the paper Bible and get to church........

If this helps, for the Vyrso app there is a step by step instruction here: https://vyrso.com/kindle-instructions that also has a download link for the current app version *.apk - if nothing else helps, you may download to PC and sideload via USB and a file explorer utility.

Update: but I just checked and the Logos app (called Bible) is in the Amazon Appstore, as is the Spanish Version Biblia! and the Faithlife Study Bible - at least in the store for Germany, "sold" for free via Amazon Media EU - maybe it's there for you, too.

Problem solved! I went here
http://downloads.logos.com/Android/Logos/beta/index.html where there are download buttons. I downloaded this on my Kindle Fire HD using EZ Installer, then opened the location and installed it. It works fine.Yes, it is available on Amazon, but Amazon says it is not compatible with my device, so it won't allow me to download from there. Apparently this problem with Amazon not seeing it as compatible has existed for a couple of years. I don't know why - the support person I talked to said it is going to be fixed sometime. Thanks for your help!0
