Hi Eunice, and welcome to the Logos forums!!

You're right ... the combination of Faithlife and Logos isn't easy going. Our Faithlife vs Logos expert on the forums is NB.Mick who lives in Germany, but others also may have advice before then.

So hopefully you'll have some patience with us, so we can get you on board. Faithlife is absolutely amazing with its worldwide potential!

    Hello Eunice, welcome!

While Denise overstated my status and role regarding Faithlife (I'm just a user like nearly everybody here), I'm glad to explain what I understand about Logos and Faithlife.

The one thing to do regarding Faithlife is to join some groups. Perhaps the most active group currently is the catholic "Logos year of faith" group.

Unfortunately we have no way to limit the group search to active groups, or at least to groups that have a number of members. So you may choose to look around and check the membership pages of active group members (if they are visible) for further groups.

Group members may post "News" (much like forum posts here) and may add Community Notes to Logos resources - these are visible in Logos (and on the group's faithlife site - even if you don't own the resource)

Hope this helps a bit - feel free to come back an ask questions or give your input.

  • How do I locate the groups?  I am new also and I feel just like Eunice.  I have no idea where to begin.  Thanks in advance.

Go to failthlife.com and sign in - you'll see a large search field in the middle, top of the screen. There you can search for groups and users. You may find your church, your seminary or something like this. The problem is how to locate "active" groups - some of them will be mentioned or linked to in the forum (Logos Year of Faith, Faithlife Beta, maybe still the Pageturners group). Then you may check the profile of active users and see the other groups they participate in.

Group activities go beyond posting news (that feature needs to be technically enhanced anyway to facilitate discussions) and include shared documents, Reading Lists (in Lutheran Theology we currently read the small catechism) and documents, things you most often will only see as a member or at least folllower of a group.

You may become a member of many groups with interesting titles, just to find out that the group seems dormant - then you may either leave the group, try to start off communication by writing posts (news) there, or remain a member or follower 'just in case". One case may be that the group starts off in the future, or that someone sends an invite to all group members for a new group that is more active.
