Popular Patristics
I'm still waiting impatiently for collection 2.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

On the way.
I didn't realize you meant that quite so literally. Someone must indeed be walking with them from New York to Bellingham. How far has he come?[:P]

Time travel is not an exact science. It takes a little guesswork.
That said, St. Vladimir's Seminary Press has recently acquired additional staff, and they will have someone dedicated to working with me/Logos going forward. We just have to wait a little longer while they get him up to speed.

I believe you're a Star Trek fan. I recently finished watching through the complete Deep Space Nine series, including the episode where Chief O'Brian loses his five-year-old daughter and gets her back as eighteen. If he can "guess" that wrong, I guess we can't blame you for a few months.[:D]
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear St. Vladimir's is that dedicated. Just wish they worked a bit faster.[:)]

I respect and value the Orthodox church for many things. Speed is not one of them - and that is actually one of the things for which I respect them. [;)]

There are times when speed is a bad thing, and there are times when speed is a good thing. Taking your time when translating patristic works can be a good thing; taking forever to publish the finished translation generally is not.

Essentially, SVS Press is a one-man operation, and that one man is a full-time professor, a full-time priest, and also works at SVS Press editing and releasing new books, promoting them, going to conferences, etc. I'm amazed he has time to sleep!
Now that they have a little help, I think we can get all of our requests finalized, rights cleared, etc.

DS9 is the most-Orthodox of all Star Trek series. The Bajoran asceticism and the theosis of Captain Sisko makes for a lot of good metaphors and analogies. [;)]

Ouch! Now I'm amazed they get any books published at all.[:)]
What was that about speed again, Ken?[:D]

One of the things I've learned about Orthodoxy (and Church History) is that, if a problem arises, you can rest assured that it will eventually be worked out. Likely not in your lifetime, but at some point!

True, which is why as I'm confident that the East and West will be fully united eventually likely not in my lifetime, but at some point!Gabe Martini said:One of the things I've learned about Orthodoxy (and Church History) is that, if a problem arises, you can rest assured that it will eventually be worked out.
