Multi-user software

I want to purchase a package for my wife and me; she has an I-Pad, but often uses a PC at home and at work. I typically am a PC guy. What is the best way for both of us to be able to use the software from our computers or devices (not at the same time, of course). Do we have to purchase two packages? Is there a reasonable way to set up a network using our wireless router? Does the fact that she likes to use her I-Pad cause a problem? Is there a web-based version that we can "lease" similar to other types of software such as financial applications, etc? Help!

i highly suggest reading the whole post (quite informative) but in short he considers a husband and wife as one user unless they are using Logos for professional reasons. For example, if they were both doing work in the church and used it for their professional roles.

Logos is licensed per-user, but the company interpret those terms generously, and are happy for family members to also share your account for occasional use. So you could purchase one package, and install it on the iPad and on your Windows PC. Just sign into both applications with the same username and password.

Having said that, if your wife is going to be using Logos on her iPad, on her home PC and on her work PC, then that may be stretching Logos' generosity on licencing a little far. Only you can be the judge of that, so you can read the Logos CEO's comments on that here.

If you use the same account, be aware that any documents you create, highlighting you add, etc., will be shared between both devices. If you're not comfortable with that for any reason, then you'd have to purchase two base packages on two separate accounts.

There is an online version available too, at www.biblia.com - again just sign in with the same username and password. Any resource in the base package you buy will be available there, but you can't rent/lease base packages, you have to purchase them outright.

There's no problem, but you need to be aware that the iPad doesn't have all the features that the Windows version has.

So long as both the iPad and your Windows PC are connected to the internet, you don't need to worry about anything else. Both apps will download the resources they need independently of one another.

Others have answered most of your questions, but there seems to be a need for one more clarification. You cannot share resources with multiple PCs over a network. Each installation will require a separate installation of resources—although you can/must use the same login information on each. But you can then run Logos on all of them at once—within reason, of course.

The iPad version allows you to leave all resources on Logos servers and access them from there, or you can download those resources for which you desire access when away from internet access. Just learned, however, that downloaded resources do not automatically update.

I think the OP's question and Bob's general approach is absolutely perfect ("within reason" of course). A family sharing in so many avenues .... modern technology and great Logos foresight.

(I sure hope Logos-iOS doesn't automatically update resources; that'd be a disaster for cellular-ists).

No, you get prompted that there are resources for which updates are available and you choose when / if you update them.
