I've finally had a chance to catch up on the last year's worth of postings in the Files forum. There's now a whole whack of new listings of user-contributed personal books. Check 'em out:

I appreciate your work. I know that new and updated resources are marked as such but I wish that the list could be sorted by date. I don't think there is a way to do this unless I am mistaken.

    Bruce,

I started to record the dates of the "new" resources in the list, since I wanted to suggest removing those from 2012.... I also wrote up a tag-like description (like "Lutheran", "Medieval", "ECF", "Restoration"), as I think this will help myself and others. But: I'm only about a quarter through the list.

I'm not sure whether the wiki supports sortable tables - Excel is of course the tool of choice for such tasks, but I personally dislike the trend to put All-Logos-relevant info in some dropboxes or google drive documents instead of the wiki.

Thanks!  It seemed like that was what you were up to.

I wanted to remove the "new" and "updated" tags that were already there when I did this pass, but I didn't know if other people might have put some of them in there recently so I didn't. However I will take all the ones I didn't just add off in a month or two, and hopefully that will be OK.

Sorry it's not sorted chronologically. I suppose we could make it a table and add a column for the date when it was added, but it would be a lot of work to do that for all the ones that are there already. If anyone wants to volunteer for that task, I would not object, and I would keep up that strategy for future additions. But I'm not going to go through and convert what's already there.

  • Hi Rosie:

Really appreciate all the work you do.

I have taken the wiki page of index to docx files and put them into Excel.

I do not think I have everything you did. Could you check it and use as you see fit?

Maybe it will someone who needs to be able to sort alpha, etc.

Very good idea! Keep on... :-) As I can see the PB production is grew a lot!

an additonal idea: would it be possible to add a language-tag? Most of the books are in english. But there are books in LATIN, CLASSIC GREEK, FRENCH, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE and GERMAN (others I didn't see?)

    Thanks!

Thanks. Sorry, but I don't have time to check/proofread it. I'm pretty thorough/obsessive about proofreading when I do it, so I'm not even going to start with this, to make sure you got all the links right and everything. Stuff like this is notoriously error prone. And it quickly gets out of sync with the original source and needs to be constantly updated and vigilantly checked every time.

    Hi James

Just a wee note to thank you for all your work and for the many books that you and others have provided for Logos users. I just wanted to say that just this week I have been unable to get through to the site where all your books are. Is there a reason for this? Is the site down as I have tried a direct like to Oldpaths main site without success? Perhaps there is some kind of maintenance going on. In any case please check it out and let me know as I like to visit on a regular basis to make sure I'm missing nothing new.

    Kind regards

    Gerald
