Philosphumena, Books 1, 4, and 5 - Legge Translation
About a hundred years ago, the SPCK published a collection of patristic works translated into English. These are old enough to be public domain, yet newer than the Logos ECF set, and so are of interest. As Legge says in the introduction:
An English translation by the Rev. J. H. Macmahon, the translator for Bonn’s series of a great part of the works of Aristotle, also appeared in 1868 in Messrs. Clark’s Ante-Nicene Library. Little fault can be found with it on the score of verbal accuracy; but fifty years ago the relics of Gnosticism had not received the attention that has since been bestowed upon them, and the translator, perhaps in consequence, did little to help the general reader to an understanding of the author’s meaning.
Legge, F. (1921). Philosophumena; or, The refutation of all heresies, formerly attributed to Origen, but now to Hippolytus, bishop and martyr, who flourished about 220 A.D. (p. 5). Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, London.
Of course, Legge wrote this in 1921 - before Nag Hammadi, and so his informed comments are now out of date. But they are a start.
Source for this is https://archive.org/details/philosophumenaor01hippuoft and I have tried to be as literal as possible. I retained footnote numbers. I tried to find unicode astrological symbols.... I was not able to retain the maginal information about pagination from Cruice's greek edition.
I had to reverse engineer the Logos Hippolytus datatype, and am more than a bit uncertain about the results. I would appreciate it if someone would offer corrections on this. In addition, I have only a limited number of links into Perseus. I grew frustrated at the different citation standards and quite frankly didn't want to spend the time needed to find all of them and convert them... In fact, I actually abandoned this book about three months ago in frustration but now see that even with the limitations it could be useful.

Great work, despite the "limitations". Your great afford is not invisible (haha :-) - it is a lot more than a 1.0 version!
