Thanks, Rosie! Am very pleased to receive this! Thank you! One of my great favourites and have used the story many times in sermons over the years, although not as effectively as O. Henry, eh???
The Cover picture is great also; however, dare I ask ... Do you have any of the illustrations the cover talks about???
Peace and Every Blessing! *smile*
Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

No, alas I don't, and I probably don't even have the right to share that cover. But I found it in a Google images search and you could have found it yourself that way too, so I was just saving people that extra step. You could Google Images search for the title in quotes and the name of the illustrator, and you will find at least one of the illustrations from the story.

Very nice Rosie. I have never read this but if you and Milford speak so highly of it I must. [;)]

Peace, Bruce! It only takes a couple of minutes to read. ....
... but many minutes to ponder about *smile*

Many years to ponder about.
We used to read this story at Christmas time every year for a few years when I was a kid. It's a wonderful parable about love and giving and mutual sacrifice.
