Personal Book File: 26 Years of Sermons by Ray Pritchard

Pastor Ray Pritchard has given permission to compile his sermons, devotionals and seven of his books (those to which he holds the copyright) into a Personal Book. The "Sermons by Ray Pritchard" file below is a docx file of approximately 9600 pages (25.6MB). Note that because of the size of the file, it may take quite a while to compile--on one of my computers it took 45-60' ending with the message "Build succeeded with 0 errors, 341 warnings." Don't be alarmed by the warnings, as the compiled PB is fully functional. Note in the Table of Contents you will find the sermons arranged by Bible book/chapter/verse with milestones added to the Bible references (in the sermon titles) allowing the PB to function much like a commentary on Genesis-Revelation (although not all OT books have entries). When you compile the PB, I would recommend saving it as "Type: Bible Commentary."
In the Table of Contents of the compiled PB note the entry "Search by Topic" which lists several Major Topics (Theology, Marriage & Family, Common Problems, Hot Topics, Church, Christian Life, etc). Each of these Major Topics has a variable number of Subtopics which represent links to Keep Believing Ministries and a list of sermons that relate to that specific Subtopic. All of the sermons related to the Subtopic are included in your Personal Book. These extra-PB links are included to give assistance if you are studying, teaching or preparing to preach on one of these topics or subtopics.
I think you will find Dr Pritchard's easy to read style is sound in doctrine as well as rich in relevant quotes, pertinent illustrations and practical applications. It is a veritable treasure trove of truth on a variety of topics. For example, I entered the following terms in my Logos PB and retrieved the number of hits in parenthesis -- marriage (1811 results in 643 articles), Holy Spirit (1924 results in 803 articles), forgiveness (1100 results in 456 articles), elder* (646 results in 306 articles), preach* (2818 results in 1386 articles), disciple* (1039 results in 579 articles), etc.
Dr Pritchard is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and Talbot School of Theology (doctor of ministry) and has been actively preaching for 34 years. He is the author of over 29 published books with 5 available in Vyrso format. He is currently the president of Keep Believing Ministries, an Internet-based ministry serving Christians in 225 countries, with a focus on China. His blog Keep Believing is updated frequently (and many of the posts are included in the PB). If you are not familiar with Dr Pritchard, see what others are saying in the reviews of one of his books The Healing Power of Forgiveness.

For 26 years he pastored churches in Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago. Most recently he pastored Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, IL for sixteen years. He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University (B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.) and Talbot School of Theology (D.Min.). He has been married to Marlene for 39 years. Their three sons (Josh, Mark and Nick) have spent time in recent years teaching English in China. Josh and Leah were married in July 2006 and have two children, Knox and VIolet. Mark and Vanessa were married in July 2007 and have two children, Eli and Penny.

Having spent so much time at Dallas, I suspect he is dispensationalist? Just trying to get a handle on how to tag him, and how to modify my collections so that he is best utilized in my library.

This is nice. Thanks. Dr. Pritchard writes very well, is solid in doctrine, and uses some wonderful illustrations. I enjoy reading good sermons, even if not always from my particular theological point of view. In fact, I have never found someone from exactly my particular theological point of view in all respects.
A wise godly man once told me, "I never heard a sermon yet that I couldn't get something out of, but I've had some close calls.". There are not many close calls with Dr. Pritchard. Much appreciated.
It took my Surface Pro 2 tablet 2 minutes and 15 seconds to compile it. I also borrowed a picture of Dr. Pritchard from his Web Page for a cover. This collection of sermons is practically an expositional sermon commentary being organized by Scripture and topics. Very nice of Dr. Pritchard to give us permission, and very nice work to prepare the docs file for compilation. Thanks to all for the hard work.

Thank you Bruce. Much appreciated.

When will we get a DocX of all of Pastor Brian Bill's sermons? [:D]
a word of explanation for other forum users: Brian Bill was my R.A. at Moody Bible Institute in the mid 80's and has been on the Board of Directors for Keep Believing Ministries for many years since serving on staff with Ray at Calvary Community in Oak Park--he is a long time personal friend.

Pastor Pritchard ask that the file be removed temporarily so that he could make revisions. It will be re-posted, hopefully in the near future.
